You cannot become knowledgeable about something without putting in the time to study it. I know this from direct experience of well over fifty years. I've been on both the high and the low sides of this...putting the time in on very important subjects and failing to put the time in on other important subjects, but when the subject is the written Word of God there is far more than just study involved. This is why there are so many educated to the gills theologians around the world that haven't a clue as to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is why a simple washerwoman may be full of the grace of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a minister can be devoid of it. This is why God could choose a sheepherder over a pharisee and a tinker over an Oxford Don.
We in America have chosen to become knowledgeable in many subjects. We may call them our hobbies, we may call them passions, we may see them as security. We can become expert in investing. We might know everything that there is to know about any number of things. We have information at our fingertips where we used to have to search diligently for it, but in gathering all this knowledge and gaining all this expertise we have missed God's consistent and clear warnings to us. His judgements upon us have begun but we have not identified them as judgements.
We have taken the lives of well over fifty million through abortion. We celebrate it! Even the supposed defenders of human life in our government do not seem to care that much about it. Apparently we believe that God will wait until one-hundred million lives are snuffed out. I don't think so.
In only the latest assault on the family, we have sanctioned homosexuality through the legalization of same-sex marriage. Consider these few verses from the 78th chapter of the book of Psalms..."(God) established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments...." We in America, through this meteoric agenda alone, are purposely snatching that hope away from our children. We are doing the exact opposite of what was commanded! Apparently we believe that God will permit this to go on. I don't think so.
We no longer honor the rule of law but rather survival of the fittest. Lying is our second language. Our nation's top industry is selling idols. We call good evil and we call evil good. We defend criminals and ridicule those who are honorable. We no longer employ the common worker......we merely use them.....and even abuse them. We are an androgynous nation where the benefit of man and the glory of woman is gone. We fail to defend the innocent and the weak while we support the lazy and the usurper. We indoctrinate rather than educate and we rule rather than govern.
