"...While He May Be Found"

Please allow me to paraphrase a well-known Benjamin Franklin quote....'I have lived sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proof I see of this truth....as great and breathtaking as the intellectual abilities of mankind are, and as determined as he is to achieve his goals... that stupidity ultimately governs in the affairs of men; and that man's inability to deduce at times what should be the simplest answers, and his seemingly inexplicable laziness at other times in even pursuing truth, is just as great and breathtaking!' What else can explain Hillary Clinton's rise to power... or soap operas... or 'safe spaces'?
Ben Franklin was 81 years old when he wrote those words at the Constitutional Convention in 1787, His actual quote of course was that..."God governs in the affairs of men." They would be profound words of wisdom from any man but particularly from Franklin who never did meet this God. My thoughts are not profound, for I've erred and been lazy as the very dimmest of my fellow men, but I am convinced that these thoughts are nonetheless true, for I only have to look around... anywhere... at our government, our entertainments, our educational system and even many of our churches to see that we are a people described as those who "....will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions."
Carl Sagan was one of those teachers, for the word of man says... "The Cosmos is all that is or was or ever will be, but the Word of God had already informed that "...it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment."
Friends...."Seek first the kingdom of God" for you will one day stand before Jesus Christ as judge... therefore, for your own benefit...."Seek the LORD while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near," for we live in a time prophesied where "Lawlessness will be increased [and] the love of many will grow cold."
