At only the latest 'rally' last night.....this one in Montana....President Trump made this statement....."we are one glorious nation under God...." I know that he lost a lot of Christian supporters with just that one strange comment.....just that one small piece of evidence that there is indeed a problem here:
It has been my contention since March of 2017 that Donald Trump was a fake. How so very Saul Alinsky of him to call others fake when that in fact is also what he is! His tweeting may have served its purpose by keeping his base too occupied to analyze what was really happening over the past year but it often also gets him in trouble. So he let it slip back then in a tweet that he would get rid of the Freedom Caucus if they didn't fall in line on the Obamacare II or Obamacare Light bill that eventually was abandoned. We should have seen right then who Donald Trump really was....but we didn't!
Illegal immigration in America....the wall....these things are a royal pain in the butt to him....nothing more. Conservatives are in denial. They can't accept....and apparently won't even consider the fact....that all their work over eight years in opposing Barack Obama's attempt to fundamentally transform America....has itself been deconstructed and fundamentally transformed as the Trump Party..
On January 23rd of 2016 candidate Trump famously said..."I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose voters." He was alluding to the loyalty of his followers. This was an alarm bell....an extraordinarily revealing slip....and we should have seen the problem....but we laughed it off. What has happened is that he has been stabbing many of supporters in the back.....and not losing voters! Folks....they're still calling Donald Trump a genius. He's pulling the rug out from under them.....and they call him a genius. And you know what? They're right!
As bad as this is it is only part of the problem that we have with a President Trump. He is now starting to ignore the advice of others......except Ivanka and Jared of course.....and deal with foreign adversaries out of gut instinct....but his genius....malevolent genius....ends with American politics. This is megalomania....and we conservatives had better put our pride aside and consider the ramifications of an unreliable man....at best unreliable....dealing with our extreme and radical adversaries from the exalted opinion of his own instincts.
