Folks, I experienced Robert Kennedy's charisma first hand as an 18 year old......and Ronald Reagan's magnetism.....none of that compares to what I saw in tonight's Trump rally. It is the embodiment of delusion. There were dozens of statements that could directly be challenged....as there always are....but of course the evangelist is gone before the crowd even comes down from the high.
The once proud Senator Ted Cruz as much as bowed to Donald Trump.....the man who did a 'Brett Kavanaugh' on his family....and then he endorsed him for reelection! How stupid is that....(how is Senator Cruz going to be objective now that he has won reelection) and this from one of the Senate's best intellects? Was that part of the endorsement deal? Donald Trump destroys people....foes on purpose....others just by coming into his orbit.....whole groups.....conservatives and Christians. I saw one woman blowing kisses.....as if the President were a rock star....and this for a man who I'm convinced....(after ten biographies and two years of study....bios and study that conservatives simply, utterly and adamantly refuse to do)....that Donald Trump cannot speak one full paragraph without either an outright lie or gross embellishment. Why did he ever pick 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' as his theme song? He's a man who thinks he can get whatever he wants.....or was the song meant for us?
I take you back to August of 2008 in Denver. Barack Obama moved his acceptance speech from the basketball arena to the Bronco's football field.....and filled it up! His people designed a stage that eerily resembled the ancient city of Pergamon's Altar of Zeus. Don't believe me.....Google both images. They swooned for Barack Obama. God has given us two grand delusions in a row! Both Obama and Trump are messiah figures. News anchors blushed in front of Barack Obama....as conservative radio talk show hosts magnify the image of Donald Trump.
There is one statement made by the President that was sadly true....."We're putting America first for a change." Christians....how does that sit with you? Can you imagine Charles Spurgeon saying that about England? Has our military become just mercenaries....."pay up or we don't come." Saudi Arabia was President Trump's first foreign trip. Jared Kushner....who pushed for that trip....was interviewed by Van Jones....(Drudge will take you there right now if you want).....it was a lovefest.....a lovefest. What voice are we listening to? It's certainly not the voice of the Good Shepherd.
