Intolerance Of Christianity

A few days ago the Washington Post published an article on same-same marriage written by Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero titled A Lesson In Tolerance From Spain. Other newspapers picked up this piece for their own readers. Zapatero is the former Prime Minister of Spain who served in that position from 2004 to 2011 and is a Socialist whose party is likened to Greece's Syriza government.
Mr. Zapatero writes in that article..."Western European countries are generally the most tolerant toward homosexuality, while a connection can be observed between societies in which religion tends to hold a central position and greater intolerance in this area." He continued...."allow me to show how proud I am of the level to which Spain accepts homosexuality and recognize how valuable this acceptance is."
Spain's financial crisis is not far behind that of Greece and although they have made gains since Zapatero left office they made international news with an accompanying concern recently as extreme Leftists again won key political elections, this with a national election scheduled for the end of the year. Mr. Zapatero uses the standard argument of intolerance but the intolerance is on their side; not that that matters for words no longer really have to convey any kind of truth.
The article concluded with these words....."I admire the work of America's Founding Fathers because I believe they envision civil happiness, which is the happiness found in living together, with each person's enjoyment of freedom linked to an awareness of that enjoyment by others-not to impose one's beliefs on other people." Our Founding Fathers, in the Constitution they enacted, codified who this new nation was. The imposition is taking place right now through bullying, underhandedness and rejection of the beliefs of those Founding Fathers by the truly intolerant.
