Donald Trump's hot-mic comments from many years ago are the rage in the news this morning. It would have shocked me to no end to have had it revealed that he did not lead a life like this. There were years of my life that were very similar. Here, my friends, is a hope in our coming election. We may eventually thank those responsible for these leaks even though they meant them for harm.
I have written in these posts and commented upon many times in personal conversation that there is one thing that Donald Trump has as a candidate that Hillary Clinton does not have....he is still redeemable! We can pray for him. Oh, you have a Bible verse to refute me with concerning Hillary Clinton? I have a passage for you...1 Timothy 4:1,2..."Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared...." These verses go on where Paul specifically mentions distortions concerning marriage and food but the key here as it addresses the topic of this post is that....consciences can be seared, rendering them permanently defunct!
There are two elements here...we are to pray for our leaders....but there are also those who are irredeemable. The persecuting Saul of Tarsus was redeemable and we will forever thank God for that....but there are others who are not, and they shall serve God's purpose also.
I have written before that we do not need a champion in America. We are far beyond needing a champion. God's judgement upon us is well under way and will not be stayed. Our hope right now as it concerns this presidential election is that Donald Trump humble himself before God!
It most likely will not happen but with God all things are possible...Donald Trump needs to tell the American people that these comments that were released, and much more of his life, are the shards of a man's broken character who had been blessed with abilities by God but had not seen fit to reverence Him or even acknowledge Him, a man who has not done what our pilgrim forefathers and Founding Fathers had done! Put that before the American people and let God do the rest. No, it would not lead to America being great again, but it may be a small part of America being God-fearing again, and that is what we truly need!
