I have pushed for and recommended and pleaded with readers to go to R. C. Sproul's ministry.....renewingyourmind.org....for as long as I have done these posts. We have contributed to Ligonier in one way or another for decades.....and hope....Lord willing....to continue to do so. Go to Ligonier....plant yourself....and leave these posts of mine.....that is what I would want.....but R. C. was not perfect.....and it is important to realize this with any of the men whose ministries mean so much to us.....and that even goes for Charles Spurgeon and others from the past. John MacArthur made a serious error in judgment that began probably when Trump called him to thank him for his stance on Covid. MacArthur said that anyone who is really a Christian would support Trump.....and he also said at the time that there was no pandemic.....serious errors....from a great ministry.
So today there is another good message on R. C. Sproul's radio program.....(R. C. went to be with his Lord in December of 2017).....the title of which is....Prepare The Way Of The Lord. Please go there and listen.....but in that message is evidence of one mistake that R. C. has made in his ministry.....and it has to do with the Lord's Day.
Now....a million better Christians than I have the same belief on the Lord's Day as does R. C.....that's not the issue....rather it is that R. C. has flaunted it.....consistently over the years. Today in that wonderful broadcast.....he made a joke that involved one love of his life....the Pittsburgh Steelers. Certainly he knew that so very many of his listeners held a different belief on professional sports on the Lord's Day. Why rub our noses in this? It's not like we are a minority over the history of the church. He should have taken this into consideration.....and just forgot about getting the big laugh....as he did in this program. Maybe these controversial comments will finally lead you to Ligonier....to see what I'm talking about?
Folks....if we do not realize that all of these great ministers....are still just men....capable of error at times.....then we lay ourselves open to following them in an unhealthy way. This is in a somewhat related way to what happened to conservatives and Donald Trump. All of the other candidates in 2016 were timid.....and Trump roared like a lion.....and so many followed him.....forsaking common sense in everything else that he did.....and now they are caught.....either directly in this cult....or indirectly as politicians that want his endorsement so bad that they forget all about ethics and honor.
Go to ligonier.org.....or desiringgod.org....there are so many wonderful ministries.....but always examine them....and yourselves....as time passes....because there are so many traps and snares along this pilgrim path....even for the best of God's ministers!

Note: NFL football started playing on Saturdays but college ball won out on that....so it has been a Sunday game since the 30s. The Lord's Day was to be a hedge of protection. Just about every sport chews away at it but the NFL has brush hogged it and covered it with artificial turf. God's Word describes cities that had their own gods....and that is what we have here in America with professional sports. God does not need these men's testimonies. Even if the NFL was a Saturday game....the idolatry would be obvious if we had any discernment left.
Christians....as you know... are to be a peculiar people....Bereans in that we test everything by the Word....but today we in evangelicalism are being compartmentalized by a purely political movement....a movement that used to be somewhat noble....but today has jettisoned ethics and honor for mind control. The evangelicals that I know seem to get all of their information from what are now our handlers....and nowhere else. These coordinated information sources are instilling in us....hate and unrighteous anger....as we are turning into bloodthirsty avengers....piranhas that rip and tear at every piece of meet they throw to us....and I cannot warn you strongly enough to break away and think for yourselves. Our pulpits should warn of this....but are literally scared out of their shoes that they will lose people and be seen as failing....if they are not taken in by now themselves....seeing this new redesigned conservative movement as God-honoring.
