I think you might like this if you give it a chance. It's a ten minute teaching by John Piper.....using some unique computer gizmos....for lack of a better word. Just Google....John Piper....drunk people make bad soldiers....and it will be right there. More importantly though....it is a needed reminder of God's command to us to stay sober and to stay watchful. It is also....I think....a good template to consider for our daily Bible study.....whereas we are not just reading....but pondering and analysing.
Update: I wanted to add yesterday's....Sermon of the Day....to this post. It's an exceptional sermon for a number of reasons. The title is....The Just Shall Live By Faith....the book....Habakkuk. Just Google Piper's name and the sermon title. You are not going to find a better explanation of the gospel of salvation. So to a person who is only an inquirer....this is for you....but to the Christian....particularly the Christian in America....you need to see how Habakkuk's message is to us in that there is no offer here to repent....for if we do then America will be made 'great' again. This is similar to the prophet Nahum. The 'offer' was made to Nineveh in Jonah....but in Nahum....over a century later. In Habakkuk....God is telling the people to prepare for what is ahead. God's warning to us in America....and in the church in America....goes back many decades. Look at America folks....and make sure that you look at us also....God is telling us what is going to happen...not what might happen.
