This post....which I am going to try to make very short....is a commentary on the post just above this. We in evangelicalism have....through negligence....forgotten what salvation is. We do not have to be born again today. Our pulpits obviously no longer emphasize regeneration. The closest that they get to it is...."say this prayer....and you are a Christian." Everybody says it....why not? You cannot even bring it up because people will think that you are judging them. So....they have children...(this alluding to the post above)....teen to adult....but since they do not know what being born again is....they cannot place their children on that grid....or their older parents for that matter. The children (or older parents) are nice people....and the parent or adult child will not embarrass the child or older parent by broaching the subject....even if they believed it to begin with....and I (we) certainly cannot bring it up.....because if we do the answer will be....'who am I to judge'....the implication being....'who are you to judge?' You probably are not familiar with the 1970 film....Catch-22....or maybe you are since apparently there was a recent remake of it. This is a catch-22 situation....one cannot be saved....because we would have to tell them they are lost in order to save them.
