It has been a wild few years for John MacArthur. Forty days before Donald Trump came down that escalator at the Trump Tower on June 14 of 2015....Pastor John's Grace To You radio ministry rebroadcast a program....Beware Of False Prophets....and here forty days later a genuine false prophet came on to the scene not only in America but smack dab into the middle of the church. Five years later John MacArthur received a telephone call from the now President Trump....running for reelection....and seeking the endorsement of the most powerful evangelical preacher in America.....and he received that endorsement.
This past New Years Day John MacArthur took ill....and was out of his pulpit for a few months....undergoing some serious medical procedures. His Grace To You ministry had also undergone some changes. I can't speak as to when this happened because I have not gone to gty.org on a regular basis for quite a number of years....but there does seem to be a change....as John MacArthur's most recent sermons are right there up front.....where it used to be that teaching was the essence of the radio ministry.
His voice is distinctly slower today after his illness....and with age....whereas his rapid-fire teaching used to be powerfully evident. This post today is solely to recommend to you to take the time.....and listen to this latest sermon.....preached only two days ago....titled Man's Greatest Need....God's Greatest Gift. Once again if you go to gty.org it is right there. And if you are only now curious of what this Christian Faith is....this is a sermon that you must hear....for it is a wonderful description of the answer that you may be seeking.
In fact all of John MacArthur's sermons since returning to the pulpit have been powerful in the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I recommended one of those only a few weeks ago....Facing A Tolerant World With Intolerant Truth. Surely there are so many right now that are thankful that God restored John MacArthur's health enough that he could return to his pulpit.
It is just personal opinion here....maybe even incorrect....but it seems that his slower speech pattern gives the listener a moment or two more to reflect on the great and glorious gospel that He preaches.
