You would think that someone....me in this instance....who has over 3400 posts here over the past 16 years....would not have trouble coming up with the words....or thoughts on this topic....but I do. I find myself just sitting here at times....going over and over what has happened...and what is happening....and the potential for what may happen in the near future. Part of what has happened is demonic. When the prevailing Christian culture of any time period utterly falls away from the gospel and the word of God....that is demonic. Part of it can be described as spectacular. That Donald Trump could go from legitimate impeachments....and legitimate felony trials....and horrors in administration in his first term....not only to another nomination....and not even another election win....but to some sort of mystical and magical figure....a kingly figure....with heads of state who despise him....bowing down to him....and all of those past crimes and horrors having just....disappeared....and even a media that was drunk on reporting his crimes and misdemeanors....that they seem to fear him now....and are attacking his predecessor....one of their own....as dogs who lose their mind and attack their owner...all this describes in worldly terms a spectacular comeback....a resurrection! The last part of it is biblical....revealed and continuously revealed prophecy....warnings come to fruition....a remnant in the church clinging closer to their Lord....while a winnowing wind blows the chaff away.
That incredible Trump rally in Wildwood, New Jersey was an eye-opener....80 to 100 thousand people in that small blue state town! The reader here is living history....he or she is living biblical history. We are about to witness the culmination of all of God's warnings and descriptions of the Last Days. Two points....one....look around at what is going on the world....look as if you were a low-level CIA analyst who at least understands these things....not as a podcaster just spouting off what he thinks is his expertise. Look even today at the Koreas....and Taiwan....and Europe and Russia....and the second point....combine the warnings that God has given us....that even the church will fall away in the last days....combine that with the church today that is excited because America might be great again...so that we all can continue our Vanity Fair life of games and goals while meeting in our Laodicean churches that think they are rich in spiritual blessings. No....we have had all the warnings that we should have needed. We are the kissing cousins of Israel as Jeremiah and Zephaniah and Habakkuk and Nahum and Ezekiel and Daniel warned and instructed them....only to have those warnings and instruction ignored.
Trump is accumulating potential power in way that we have never seen in America. Trudeau and Macron are bowing down to him...and he is not even president yet? There are many possibilities on what might happen in the near future. War might come before the inauguration....making Trump appear as a savior or some sort. Martyn Lloyd-Jones was embroiled in a battle royal in the mid-60s over the issue of ecumenism. The undiscerning church wanted to unite with other branches of....christendom....not to be mistaken with Christianity. Lloyd-Jones made tsunami waves by calling for Christians to come out of the false churches....not unify. In similar fashion....we believers need today....to come out from among them. Let these evangelicals who think that they are going to make America great again....with Trump as some kind of God-send....let them go their way. We the remnant need to come together under the only true hope....our Lord and Savior and coming King Jesus Christ....with His word as our guide....not politics!
Here are a couple of verses to consider....
Matthew 24:24 from the ESV...."For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect."
2 Thessalonians 2:11 from the ESV...."Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false."
Folks....we do not know what that strong delusion will be....although....a veil may be being lifted here. That's not the problem. The problem is that we are not even looking for that strong delusion!
