How did we get to the point where so many immigrants or refugees come into our country, not with respect and appreciation but with an attitude, as if this is but a frontier and they have come to stake their claim, as if the people of America have no business inquiring of their intentions or plans or anything, and as if the government has no right to expect or demand their allegiance?
Immigration is a jewel in America's crown...but it has become tarnished beyond recognition. Yes, Washington and Jefferson and Franklin and many others are examples of the quintessential American, but not because of their Anglo-European ethnicity! It was because of their courage combined with brilliance and their fortitude interwoven with character. Americans have displayed those qualities many times over the past 200 plus years and most often in otherwise ordinary Americans, and quite often in immigrants! That's part of how America became what it was. Peter acknowledged the welcoming of outsiders, as recorded in the Book of Acts, as he spoke to the Roman centurion Cornelius..."...I see very clearly that God does not show favoritism but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him."
One cannot walk the streets of America without seeing the faces of immigration. We have long since forsaken even taking notice of a man's ethnicity. Mario's is Italian...Stan's is Polish...Zhao's is Chinese....Juan's is Mexican....who cares! Our little ethnic neighborhoods in just about every major city further unify us...for that is our heritage....we are one out of many! The beauty of these diverse faces is the beauty of America itself. George Washington's stern features point to our founding. Thomas Jefferson's handsome stare belied the brilliant polymath within. The sincerity and wisdom that can be seen in Abraham Lincoln's eyes haunt us but none of these men are with us today...only the history of their actions....and that history is being shredded by the abuse of immigration for political and even more nefarious purposes.
They can call us all the names that they want. Lies and slanders permeate the core of communism, which is a driving force in America's collapse. Those immigrants coming to America because they want to be part of us, live and benefit from our laws and our constitution, and who have every intention of being faithful to and defending the principles that they have heard so much about, these immigrants and future citizens are not receiving the respect that they deserve....and we are being slandered with xenophobia. The truth being ignored at best is that we welcome them with open arms! When they take that oath of citizenship, with patience and according to the wise steps required of them to take....then they are as much American as you or I!
