We demanded that Barack Obama release his birth certificate and academic records. That was OK... but we conveniently ignore calls for Donald Trump's tax returns even though he promised during the campaign that he would release them? Obama hid these personal records and we called him out for it. Donald Trump hides his tax returns but that's OK?
The Russian probe is President Trump's 'birth certificate' issue. Just release the tax returns. Give Mueller a time limit of a month....tell him to then put out what he's got....related to the 2016 election.....and Mueller's work is finished. Surely everything else will be leaked.....but at this stage of finding out who Donald Trump really is.....how much worse can it be? Unless....ah we won't get into that. It's either this or we drag this thing out and our president is further distracted from serious issues, the enormity of which not even Abraham Lincoln faced during the Civil War!
Obama set the record for golfing and we kept track of his tee dates. One 'fact checking' web site just reported an October 13, 2014 Donald Trump Tweet..."Can you believe that,with all the problems and difficulties facing the U.S., President Obama spent the day playing golf, Worse than Carter" (apparently the spacing and punctuation of this is accurate) According to this 'fact check' organization....as of August 1st of Obama's first term he had golfed eleven times....Donald Trump has golfed twenty times so far....but we could care less. This kind of hypocrisy goes on and on.
Why is this? Well, there are probably many reasons but I think that what it boils down to is that we once occupied the high ground of at least honestly attempting to restore integrity to our government. Donald Trump has beckoned us off of that hill but we need to climb back up there.....if need be without him! If we remain where we are we will in the end be washed down the same drain and wind up in the same swamp.
Our political reformation is in jeopardy of being hijacked by President Trump. Why is H. R. McMasters still where he is at? We are at a disadvantage in that President Trump can enact a steady stream of executive orders undoing executive orders of President Obama, thus causing us to cheer and rally around him, but the overall agenda in President Trump's mind is not altogether representative of the collective mind of those who put him in office nor consistent with who he portrayed himself to be in the campaign. Many therefore are being duped....seeing the good but totally oblivious to the bad.
Folks, the other side has long ago chosen utter deception over truth. We have not only known this, we railed against it for well over two decades. My take on Donald Trump from the beginning has been that he has no wisdom....plenty of moxie and know-how.....but no discernible wisdom....and wisdom is what he will need in abundance in the serious and troubling times that may lie just ahead of us. We want this our president to succeed. We recoil as much as anyone else on the silent coup attempts from the 'deep state' element of our government.
So should we just 'let Donald Trump be Donald Trump?' No. If he wants to be as Ronald Reagan was to us then let him humble himself before God as Ronald Reagan did....acknowledge that God alone rules in the affairs of men as did George Washington.....resolve to from here on in be transparent with those who put him in office.... and as did Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War....trust that..."the will of God prevails; without Him all human reliance is vain...."
