We are two weeks away from the 500th anniversary of the beginning of the Reformation from which the gospel literally exploded upon the world and also because of which the pilgrims and colonists eventually were the beginnings of the United States of America.
Ever heard of the October Revolution? Well over 100 million people.....maybe 140 million people.....died because of that communist curse on the world......and that number is probably going to get a whole lot bigger! So let's celebrate 100 years shall we?
Next May will be 70 years for the state of Israel....70 years....not 63....not 77....70 years.....a good round Bible number. A few months back a lot of people celebrated the 50th anniversary of Israel taking control of the old city Jerusalem.
Two-thousand years ago Jesus was living in Nazareth......and six thousand years ago......Thursday......just kidding about Thursday but 6,000 years ago Adam was in the Garden.
Thirty-eight years ago this months the Pittsburgh Pirates last won the World Series......sixty years ago today Wake Up Little Susie was at the top of the Billboard charts.....and today is the thirty thousand one-hundred and seventy-second day since Elvis was born.
As you can see.....not all anniversaries are equally important....or interesting. So let's scratch the Pirates.....Wake Up Little Susie......and Elvis's birthday. The rest are a pretty impressive group.
And today....it's on Drudge right now.....the sun turned to blood red in parts of the UK....that's United Kingdom....not University of Kentucky. Surely that means something! Did you know that Donald Trump was born on one of the five blood moons of the 20th century! Did you know that Hillary Clinton has six toes on each foot? I'm just kidding about that. No one has ever seen Hillary's toes so she might have six of them on each foot. No one's ever even seen her legs....or her arms.....only a face and hands.....now that's really interesting!
