Throughout 2018 right up to the time that it was certain that Donald Trump would get the 2020 nomination I simply hoped that he would realize that he was despised by the majority of all Americans....(even with his Evita style adorers)....and that he would retire....and not only retire but enjoy the glory....to use a word that he would understand....of having been the 45th President of the United States....and go on from there....even being a political presence as George W. and Obama and all the other ex-presidents have....but it became more than clear quite a while ago that he isn't that type of person. It was therefore an impossibility asking him to exhibit even a morsel of wisdom or honor.
I'm not going to sit down and count them but there have been numerous times where with any other politician they would have been done for....January 6 only being one of the latest....but he is somehow saved from being banished every time. Trump does have one great ability....and that is psychological manipulation mixed with brute force coercion....using fear and rage as outlined in Bob Woodward's two previous books....as we are kept in the snare of the fowler.
So here we are today. Judgment is coming to us in America and ultimately it would not matter if it is a Trump or Biden who fights his own generals....while deploying his own personal army as in the case of Trump....or having that army of fanatical Progressives use him as a puppet as in the case of Biden....but it would matter if we were successful in finding a nominee for president....possibly becoming the 47th President of the United States.....should the Lord tarry even that long....in that we would at least be free from the bondage of suicidal ideologies....or a demagogue as a leader.
Ichabod....the glory has departed....is the banner that hangs over evangelicalism and the church today. We have lost our purpose....and we have lost our compassion....and we have lost our unction. A winnowing is needed....and God may bring that winnowing....and may it start....should it be His will....with Donald Trump. Let those who see power only in numbers stay with Trump....for God picked only 300 to follow Gideon....less than 1%....and the Midianites collapsed in utter chaos before them....destroying themselves.
