Traveling Steerage!

I had to add this short post....I'll move it to my DISPATCH post in a little while. What a name....Thankgod Opemipo Matthew Yeye. He and two other men had stowed away on top of the giant rudder on the stern of a cargo ship....this in Lagos, Nigeria....only feet above what must have been the terrifying churning waters from the ship's propellers.  A fourth man had a friend row him over to do the same thing....only to find three others already there in the makeshift....'stateroom.' They were on their way to Europe....and a better life away from crime and instability. Ten days into the rocky voyage they ran out of food and water. Four days later they arrived....in Brazil. His first name....Thankgod....reminds me of the allegorical names from John Bunyan's....The Pilgrim's Progress....Great-heart....and Flatterer....and Lord Hate-good and others. Two of the men said they wanted to return home....but Thankgod was thankful to be in Brazil.
