The location of the Pool of Siloam had recently been discovered.....and excavations begun. As of today....(this is in the news)....they have made significant progress....uncovering steps and making plans for the public to begin viewing. In the eighth chapter of the Gospel of John....Jesus was confronted by the Pharisees in the temple....making some of those extraordinary statements that many of us have memorized....culminating with....."Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM." That statement is so clear in that Jesus was telling them of His divinity....that they took up stones to throw at Him.
Jesus then just passed through the midst of them and a man blind from birth came to His attention. There was a lot more involved in what happened but for this post....Jesus put clay on the man's eyes and told him to go to that Pool of Siloam....and wash off the clay. The man did so and could see for the first time in his life. Don Francisco had a ballad concerning that miracle....Since I Met Him....the same miracle that you and I experienced.....only it was our spiritual eyes that were given sight for the first time.....that is part of being born again....which is why I post so often on it....for one can be a church-goer their whole life....even a pastor....but if they were not born again they might have all the outward trappings of being a Christian....even a desire to serve God....but as Jesus said....neither see nor enter the kingdom of God.
