The Rainmaker

               Here is a breakdown on the collapse of evangelical thought as it pertains to the politics of MAGA. We thought that we had it bad with Barack Obama. The Supreme Court decision in Obergefell v. Hodges in 2015 made same-sex marriage legal in all 50 states. Hillary was set to replace Obama. Year after year....over the past two decades prior to 2015....after what was an extraordinary period of genuine....albeit regional revivals in the late 60s to early 80s....we started to shift towards looking to politics rather than God. In those 'regional revivals'....the gospel came first....people were being born again....and politics followed. That would change.
               So by 2015 we were an arid religious wasteland....low discernment....with dry combustible pulpits....frustration and anxiety....where all that was needed was a match....and on came Trump with a blowtorch. In the aftermath....the mountains and hillsides were barren....ripe for flooding when the rains came....and then Trump came as rainmaker.
                There had been no replanting....no conservation of what was left of the Christian Faith....only pulpits that could rage about masks and vaccines and pandemic closings....and then the rains came....and then the floods....damns burst....and when the water receded....the geography of the country had changed....the pillars of our constitution had toppled....not to be rebuilt....but replaced with monuments....monuments to the Rainmaker....who brought on the floods....after he burned out the forests.
