Note: Sirius/XM has extended the Billy Graham Channel 145. I don't know how long they extended it for but I'm thankful for whatever it is. Our daughter-in-law and new grandson arrived early and ahead of our son for Thanksgiving. My wife was already with them and I was excited and on the way. I jumped into my pickup truck....yes I'm one of those pickup owners who believe in God....and headed out to see them. I turned on the Billy Graham Channel and before I knew it I was three miles past where I had to turn off. Such is the effect of a Billy Graham evangelistic crusade sermon.....one even that I had heard three or four times in the past couple of weeks.
I have magnetic bumper-stickers on my tailgate. Right now, along with my Special Dog URL I have...'Billy Graham Channel 145.' I don't care if they go to my posts.....but pray that they reach over and punch in channel 145 on their XM radio.
My prayer also is that this NFL national anthem controversy might be a blessing in disguise....that men would take this opportunity to discard this Lord's Day pastime....a pastime that I spent much of my early life on....and find a true and eternal passion in the Bible and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Bill Graham Channel 145
Sirius/XM radio began a limited run Billy Graham Channel in honor of his 99th birthday. This will only last through November 17th!
There was a day.....not that long ago....when the average American would turn on their television and while turning that little knob might very well come across a Billy Graham crusade. I did that many times way back when. There was a day....recently.....when the average American might be shopping for a new pair of shoes or a new outfit....and they would pass a Christian bookstore and then stop in to browse. I did that very thing back in 1982....and it was instrumental in my life changing. Many people travel in their work and spend a lot of time in hotels and motels. They might turn off the television in boredom and open the drawer on their bedside table only to find a Gideon Bible. I also did that on a stormy night on a Caribbean cruise back in 1982. That possibility is fading away as more and more of these establishments no longer let the Gideons place that Bible in their rooms.
Joel Osteen is the new evangelist on television....and radio....and in books. Smart phones and therefore Facebook are what one might stumble across on that trip to the shopping center....and Modern Family and the Big Bang Theory are the only scriptures one might find in their hotel room. We may know that we are in trouble but have no idea that our supply lines are cut. Take advantage of this channel 145 while it lasts. God may have put it here...at this time...for a purpose.
Note: Billy Graham saved his best book for last. He was probably 95 or 96 at the time that he was writing it. Folks that's a lot of experience in watching the world decay. That's probably about the same age of the Apostle John when the Book Of Revelation was given to him to write. Billy Graham's book is titled Where I Am. It was published in 2015 and I've seen it sold as low as $4.99 at Ollie's (Good Stuff Cheap). In fact I've bought about ten copies to give away....it's that good. He simply starts at Genesis and essentially talks to you on the pages all the way through the Revelation. It's also on Audiobook.
