There are a lot of evangelicals who are aware of the Jewish holidays throughout the year. Some choose to observe them....as in 'celebrate' or 'solemnize.' I always have them in the back of my mind....'taking note of them'....fairly certain anyway that end-times events of importance will happen on some of those days. After forty years of reading and studying my Bible....I just cannot see how God could have designed the history of the Jewish people as He did....so meticulous on recording days and months and years....and then not to have something planned as the Jewish people finally see their Messiah when He comes in power and glory.
So as I type....in the afternoon of August 6 of 2022....I am aware that we are in the beginning of the Jewish holiday....the Ninth of Av....or Tisha B' Av....the ninth day of the Jewish month of Av. It began a few hours ago in Israel as their sabbath began....and will end tomorrow at sunset. It is 4 PM here in Western Pennsylvania right now....and 11 PM in Israel.
Tisha B' Av is a day of mourning.....and remembrance....and a fast day....as so many disasters had happened on this date....the 10 spies returned from the Promised Land with a bad report....a faithless report....and Israel was left to wander for forty more years....and both Temples were destroyed on this date....by the Babylonians in 586 BC ....and the Romans in 70 AD. There were other disasters or tragedies that have happened on the Ninth of Av over the centuries.....including the Jews being ejected from England.....and from Spain....in different years.....but both on this date....enough that the day took on a significance to 'observant Jews'....and even to a certain extent....to others.
