It has been my experience anyway....reading news stories where when I finished I was disappointed in the quality of the reporting....for it often did not address all the salient facts. Well if you are interested in what happened in Kansas yesterday on the rejection of the abortion amendment....there is an article right now in the Kansas City Star that is short and succinct....and after reading it you will be up-to-date on what happened and what might be ahead. This from the article...."This is the first, but certainly not the only opportunity that we’re going to have to get a sense of where the American people are at,” said Mallory Carrol, vice president of communications at Susan B. Anthony Pro-life America."
"A sense of where the American people are at"....that is my focal point in this post....what are America's feelings on the taking of human life in abortion? Much of the essence of these posts of mine is that God is right now judging America for who we are. We on the other hand....think that God will bless us for who we really are!
Kansas is a red state....with a history of pro-life involvement....yet the vote yesterday was not even close....and the turnout was high. It appears that the urban areas remained solid for the Democrats....but the rural areas....although they voted red on the amendment....did not overwhelmingly do so.
There are photos in the news of people....taken as the amendment votes were tallied....and you could see in many of the faces....ecstatic joy....joy for being able to kill their babies if they so wished! Add to this that the Gay agenda has won in America....in a landslide....making much headway even in evangelicalism.
The vote on the state constitutional amendment in Kansas yesterday goes beyond the politics of the situation....and if we would look.....it should show us that God is not judging a 'Christian' nation....He is not even looking at us as 50% rebellous and 50% faithful....but He is looking at us for who we are....a nation that once had Christian faith....but not longer does.
God's Word tells us that few will be saved. We think that we in America are an exception to the rule....but we are not. There cannot be 10% of Americans who are biblically Christian....born again. If there were to be a winnowing....which it looks as if a winnowing is coming....with politics serving as a winnowing fork....there will be a "peculiar people" on one side....isolated and persecuted....and all the rest on the other side....whether they be liberal democrats....or republicans....including mulititudes of evangelicals.
"Behold, the days are coming"
says the Lord GOD,
"That I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread,
Nor a thirst for water,
But of hearing the words of the LORD"
That verse from Amos 8:1 is where we are at today in America.....for there is a famine of hearing the words of God. God is not awesome to us anymore....in fact we deem Him kind of asleep at the switch right now....but we are determined....not to draw down mercies through our repentance....but wake Him up! Kansas was indicative of...."where the American people are at".....half celebrating pagan sacrifice....while nealy half....as did Jehu....are attempting to tear down statues to Baal....(abortion)....but have no intention of removing the more numerous golden calves....(our pride and greed and self-absorption and idols).
