A Real Debate......But A Too Late Debate

                I would imagine that people all over America tonight are saying....those who watched the Vice President debate...."Now why can't we have these two as our candidates for President?" They both seemed to be respectful and honest men. It was an actual debate. Yes I agree with J. D.Vance on most of his answers....(January 6 would be one issue that Tim Walz had right)....but the other gentleman seemed to be a fine man also.
                There were seventeen Republican candidates at one time in the 2016 campaign. This is where we made our mistake....where we let our guard down. President Trump announced his reelection campaign only days after taking office in January of 2017....and spent the next four years securing commitments for support in 2020....where there was no credible challenger....and then in 2024 the Republican National Committee gave unconditional support to Trump.....cancelling some primaries that were problematic....and pushing for 'winner-take-all' changes to be made is some other states.....both to benefit Trump....who did not even show up for any debates! 
                The Democrat Party has a longer history of making sure that the Democrat National Committee's chosen candidates get the nomination. When President Biden's age caught up to him in the debate with Trump....not only was he unceremoniously forced out....but his replacement was secured immediately....yet they like to make a big deal about the importance of democracy.
                Jimmy Carter turned 100 years old on October 1. I voted for him in 1976....and shook his hand. Ronald Reagan was a wonderful man....Walter Mondale and Michael Dukakis were good men. George H. W. Bush should have been given a second term....but then along came the Clintons in 1992....and the Democrat Party was changed. The Republican Party lasted another twenty-four years....(just as Judah outlasted Israel)....until it also changed in 2016.
                To use biblical Old Testament terminology....both parties now did evil in the sight of the LORD....the Democrats by constantly opposing God's Word....and the Republican Party in jettisoning all ethics....and submitting to the threats of a man....a Herod the Great if you will....who was a builder....including fortresses....and who turned the Temple complex into one of the wonders of the ancient world....but a man who brought division....and cared only for himself. And that is where we are at today. God stepped back and has given us what we wanted.
