As most everyone knows.....Brian Wilson....the founder of the Beach Boys....died a few days ago. In April of 2007....Republican candidate John McCain....when asked a question about Iran.....sang a couple of bars of Barbara Ann....only the words were...."bomb bomb bomb....bomb bomb Iran." On November 4, 1979....Iranian....'students'....took over the American embassy in Tehran. It meant little to me....for I was at the hospital bedside of my father as he died....and was later buried at Arlington.
                Israel bombing Iran was long overdue. As we today read reports of what transpired yesterday....what is most apparent is the subterfuge that was employed....in order to inflict the most damage. Iranian generals were lured to initiate an emergency meeting....and that meeting place was then bombed. 
                The questions that go on in my mind on something like this....where Israel is relying on us....are questions of which I have no answers whatsoever....only inclinations. We obviously knew what Israel was going to do....and when they were going to do it. We went out of our way to point out that we were not directly involved....which is a little concerning. Trump is still talking about Iran making a deal....which doesn't make a whole lot of sense since Iran never keeps to their deals.
                 The questions that are really always in my mind concern promises that Trump made to Israel....and the dates that he may have made them. I've tried to glean as much as I could on the many meetings over the past eight years that Trump had with Netanyahu....for the day is coming.....sometime....when he will have to keep those promises.....if they were indeed ever made.
                 Yesterday was only the beginning. Christians need to be praying fervently at this time! Will this Lord's Day....finally....be the day when our pulpits awaken? I've asked that so many times that I'm tired of saying it....but it has to be our hope....that the baubles....which means the entertainments.....of this world....will finally be seen by us as what they are....and we will finally take our place as the peculiar people that we should be....set apart....distanced from the temptations of unwise boasting of....making America great again....and instead seeking to glorify God in whatever is ahead.
