"Next Question?"

Why would Ted Cruz agree to an interview with Tucker Carlson? Carlson likes to play dumb at times....with his facial expression turning in an instant to perplexity....as if his line of repeated questioning was not all planned.....and he did that to Cruz. The topic was the Christian church's relationship to the state of Israel and the Jewish people. It was politically motivated....for he had to trap Cruz into appearing to not even know what he believed. Carlson is probably the worst of the worst of journalists.
Senator Cruz's answer....though so basic that it came out as childish....was fine. He could go no further than repeating that God's Word said that those who bless Israel will be blessed....and those who curse Israel will be cursed. He was a childlike believer in this....simply trusting in what God's Word said....and letting the theologians argue out the details. This isn't addressing politics or bombing Iran. It is only saying that God's hand is on these people....and now this state of Israel....for blessings....and also...for judgments. Our part is to realize that God is at work here....and that in spite of Israel's sins....and many weaknesses and foibles....their enemies are historic and demonic haters not only of Israel and anyone who might help them....but haters of the true God who has already condemned them to the fiery pit....forever and ever.
In my theological background I know a lot of people....usually pastors or others who spend a lot of time in theology....who could not care less what happens to Israel....for to them the state of Israel has no relevance whatsoever to the Christian. Personally....I don't spend a lot of time trying to prove my opinion on this....for it is a trap....or a time-wasting snare that we can be caught up into,.
From what I see in God's Word it is one of those things that is easy to discern....God has not totally given up on the Jewish people. That seems to be the God that I know of in scripture who mercifully saved my own soul...the lowest of the low....and most unlovable of the unlovable. I praise and thank God for His merciful promises to the people who rejected Him two-thousand years ago.
So....research this topic all you want if you wish. I'll just give you one little video here...only a minute long. Observe if you will R. C. Sproul's reaction to the question. He answers it simply and matter-of-factly....and the crowd reacts with some gentle laughter. You can almost hear R. C. then saying...."Next question?'
