OK....you have a son....or you have a daughter....and you love them. Everything is normal so far. Now....you believe in hell.....and you believe in heaven. I don't mean that you just give the standard answer for an evangelical....but that you really.....really.....believe that there is a heaven and a hell....and more than that you believe that one has to be born again to go to heaven. I mean you really....really believe that there is such a thing as being born again....and the "power of the resurrection". If that is the case that you believe in a heaven and a hell....and you also believe that one has to be born again....born from above....that there is no other way....to go to heaven....and not to go to hell....then using logic alone....one being that you really love your child....and two....you know that they have to be born again or suffer an eternal punishment....you would not....under any circumstances....leave there salvation to chance....and by chance I mean that the child is a nice person....has always gone to church....never gave anyone any trouble....but there is really not much else there as to belief....and certainly no passion for the gospel. So you just go about your business....and hope and pray that God has mercy upon the child that you love. I do not know what kind of love that would be? I know of good and faithful ministers on the national scene....and I personally know good Christian men who have a child that is reprobate. I can only imagine the heartbreak. No you cannot save them yourself! That is something that you cannot do.....but here is something else that you cannot do....you cannot let the gospel of the day....and this political gospel of the day....win the day....over the gospel in God's Word that you know to be true....without a fight. If you decide to leave all of this up to chance....then you had better look into your own salvation....for something is terribly....terribly wrong!
