I remember very well reading the anecdote....I just cannot remember where I read it. It was in the mid-1980s....at a concert of the most popular Christian singer of the day....and David Wilkerson had attended to see what all the fuss was about. He.....Wilkerson....mentioned that the singer's husband was playing his guitar and had a rose between his teeth. I was at a different concert of this singer and remember the rose between the teeth. David wound up running up the aisle of the concert shouting....ICHABOD.....ICHABOD....the glory has departed!
That was forty years ago....and the glory has long ago departed the evangelical church in America. How many of these Christian performers had been divorced....and nothing was said about it....to say nothing about all the conservative politicians....with multiple divorces....and with a Christian contingent led by Paula White. Have you ever seen the video of her praying for angels to come and help Trump. Shame on you if you haven't....and this has been Trump's 'pastor for twenty-five years.....demonic....and they are our heroes!
There is no preaching to speak of in the average American church.....God has taken home just about all those who could preach like preachers of the past....but most today have never heard the gospel preached so they wouldn't know what is not there. Fox News is like the Watchtower of the Jehovah Witnesses....that gives all the information the evangelical will ever need to know. It's pure poison....and we love it. Arenas will be filled with evangelical youth....hands raised....glorying....not in the Jesus whose name they shout....but the passion of the moment. David Wilkerson may or may not have actually seen demons on the stage as he says....but the glory of God has departed the American church....replaced by laser light shows that mesmerize.
Politics....it appears....was the final nail in the coffin. All of these youth today proudly shouting praises to God in the political rallies....have been deceived. Their misplaced hope is in broken cisterns....and a false prophet....who for ten years has prophesied to us....the exact opposite....the....exact....opposite....of what God's Word so very clearly tells us that is ahead. This isn't a sign of revival....it's a sign of the great falling away before the Lord returns. We are all soon going to find out that our hopes were terribly misplaced.
