God has given His children the most perfect gift....in that of His Word. Christians have carried this as their most precious possession. Every passage in it is "God breathed." We read it every day....and we memorize it....and we evangelize others with it. Nothing can be taken away from it nor added to it. Mine is sitting eight inches from my left elbow right now. It may be referred to in this post or may not....it is near....and that is all I care about.
In God's Word He speaks to us of a great delusion that will come in the last of the last days....so powerful of a delusion....that even genuine born again believers....(a redundant but today necessary description)....that even Christians can be taken in....for a time. We are told of a great falling away....so much so that Jesus gave us a parable....and used the case of a widow....who was wronged and sought justice from a judge....who kept ignoring her....but she kept coming back to the judge....again and again and again.
Jesus had just finished talking about the Day of the Lord....with the example given of fire and brimstone raining down upon Sodom.....and the example of everyone just going about their business amidst the violence until Noah entered the ark. We are told....through the parable of the widow....to keep praying....and praying....and praying. Jesus then said...."Nevertheless....when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?"
Today....after more than a half century of warnings by God's faithful servants....we are that widow. God's word is being abused even in the church....as we are turning for answers and explanations to the sudden solving of ancient mysteries....and identification of deity genealogies....as if that would help anything anyway. Paul wrote to Timothy of the last days....that there would be...."deceitful spirits and teachings of demons." (1 Timothy 4:1)
Telling us....and convincing us....that today....in Donald Trump....we are given another....Jehu....thus causing us to turn from Christ....is one of those doctrines of demons....and we are thus part of that falling away....and taken in by that great delusion.
The gospel of salvation is being eviscerated of that which saves....and added to in that which does not save....Christian Nationalism....and the hope in our own power and might....proclaiming the same lies as did the false prophets to Israel of old...."Peace, peace, when there is no peace." (Jeremiah 6:14)
