Yesterday's post was on the decorum in the House Chamber, statesmanship of President Donald Trump in his speech to a Joint Session of Congress, and that God rules in the affairs of men and not the other way around. Today's post is on the contents of the speech that was given.....only there was no content in that speech that hasn't already been plastered over radio and television airwaves for the past year. What was done in the speech was done well but what's more intriguing is whether what wasn't done may have been done well also.
Your confused? President Trump is going to build up the military and take better care of our veterans? Anyone not heard that before? There will be money for a great great wall and a trillion dollars for infrastructure and money for other worthy deeds....and tax relief for corporations and the middle class to boot! I tuned in to the speech in the hopes that he might give some clues as to where the money to pay for these things was going to come from. I have some ideas but I wanted to hear his.
What is odd is that President Trump wasn't even held to account for this. Since when does the leadership of the Democrat Party not put a fire under any Republican president's feet....whether they deserve it or not.
Our national debt is $20 trillion, and that's the short form, the long form shows more than$100 trillion. Our yearly debt is greater than our GDP which means the debt continues to grow! Yes, the stock market is going through the roof but are you aware that there are numerous credible financial analysts who are warning as many as they can that a massive crash is inevitable.
The president did allude to the fact that monies would be..." financed through both public and private capital..." but that is no credible answer. Why wasn't he challenged on this. Many have commented on how inane the Democrat response was from the former Governor of Kentucky but something is really amiss here, particularly since some media outlets expected compromises to be offered in the speech. And then to really put a cherry on top of all this the liberal news media, much if not most of it, actually complimented President Trump on his speech? Have they all of a sudden been healed of their duplicities?
Apparently we don't want answers. Apparently we think that we are playing with Monopoly money. More likely though we haven't a clue as to the predicaments (plural) that we are in. President Trump did give an effective speech, but a speech that told us nothing. I had hoped that we were through with that kind of contentless oratory and lack of transparency.
