I've been out of the army 44 years now but had a Top Secret Clearance....just like the female contractor in the news who supports the Taliban and has been caught passing secrets. We had a routine back then....mind you this was overseas and I didn't work with computers....trash can bags were gathered up every night and stored for a time in a room. We took our turn, for it was a dirty job, as once a month we hauled those bags to a furnace at the rear of the compound and burned them...taking care that no partially burned fragments of anything escaped in the smoke....not even a part of a letter from home or a crossword puzzle. Things have changed.
Another young man in the news over the past few years.....whose duties were very similar to mine....purposely leaked very vital information. He then became a girl....and is now a hero....excuse me....heroine. The world has been turned upside down. Barack Obama literally tried to bring our nation to its knees and Senator John McCain said over the weekend said that American leadership was better under Obama! To quote the good doctor's words at the end of The Bridge On The River Kwai...."Madness!"
Anti-Sharia marches will do little to alleviate the turmoil in the American mind. No one on the other side of this maelstrom will say..."Gee, they make a good point," for at least one half of the aggregate of the American mind is convulsed. Conservative talk radio served a purpose over the last few decades.....more than a purpose for it was a life saver as the American psyche was coming apart and both sides were fighting for a base. We needed information on our side and talk radio hosts provided it but a change has occurred and the old ways do not serve the new needs.
For a few weeks now I turn on the radio and turn it off in a few minutes for it is the same thing over and over and over again. We don't need the sick Trump impeachment frenzy thrown at us day after day....every minute of the show. We know they are crazy. At least let us digest it. If I were a communist I'd be laughing and saying..."keep wasting your time!" What worked in the past....what was necessary in the past....will not work today....for the battle lines have already been formed and the armies are in place.
There is a Bible verse in the book of Romans that Christians are very familiar with...."Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect," America needs a renewed mind and only God can do this. Conservative talk radio needs to bring God into the equation....not in occasional comments which some talk show hosts already do but in an out and out challenge for Americans to consider He who not only established us in the beginning and sustained us throughout our history but who alone causes nations to rise and nations to fall.
Now some...probably all talk show hosts would scoff at such a proposition. I don't expect them to see what is actually going on in America as it pertains to our rebellion against God and His judgments upon us...but I do expect that they will in due time! As for us who already know that God's hand has been lifted from America....past tense.....we need a continual renewal of the mind also. Our churches, most if not the majority of them, have become little more than Sunday school lessons from the pulpit.....but I don't expect them to actually change either....until God renews their minds....and that is what we should be praying most ardently for!
