So the NFL conference playoffs will be held today to determine which two teams go to the Super Bowl. I had to Google 'NFL Rams' to see what city they are from.....that's how out-of-touch I have been with NFL football....but there was a day when I was in downtown Pittsburgh celebrating right after a Super Bowl was won.
Los Angeles....New Orleans....Kansas City....and what....Boston or all of New England....will be focused on these games today....as will all of America really....including here in the Pittsburgh area....for this is America....and this is the Lord's Day in America...."God bless America"...."One glorious nation under God" as President Trump tells us....and "There has never been a better time to be young and to be an American" so "Calm down....enjoy the ride."
It's not only the NFL....for March Madness isn't too far away.....and the Academy Awards.....and Spring training.....and on and on. Visits to this website from people outside of the United States have exceeded visits from those within the United States. How am I to interpret this? Well....my gut feeling is that Americans do not want to hear that their country is under judgment from God....which is what I bring up in most of these posts....whereas people outside of the United States can see much more clearly the collapse of this once great nation.
Christians in America do not want to hear that the Christian church in America is weak in comparison to what it always had been....that the cross is rarely preached.....and that the glory has departed....and I can't blame them for not wanting to hear this. Although it has to be said that there are many pastors who not only agree with the words of these posts but many have been giving these warnings for longer than I have.
Conservatives in America....in general....so far....but subject to change in a single day....refuse to come to grips with who Donald Trump really is. To do so....in their opinion at this time....would be to cede power back to Obama/Clinton/Pelosi gang. Donald Trump has changed us....and we lack the compassion we once had.
So as those of you outside of America watch this....pay attention if you can to stories on American Christianity. The opinion will be of a negative bent for sure....but they may tell the real story on what is ahead. If you read that Christians here are all of a sudden getting very serious on what is going on all around them....that pastors across America are beginning to preach with the unction that the French historian de Tocqueville once described....and that Americans are mysteriously becoming more religious....then look to the heavens yourselves....for the Lord Jesus Christ would be mounted....and His mighty angels forming behind Him.
