Spurgeon Sermon Recommendation

As is my habit.....whether working on something around the house....or on an errand....and especially on walk.....I Google up a sermon from someone usually from the past....and more often than not it's Charles Spurgeon. I wanted to recommend the one that I listened to today. It was directed to all of the professors of faith in his Metropolitan Tabernacle....and was preached in 1862. It's a message....about 50 minutes....that I believe we all need to hear at least once a year.....for it is simply directing us to self-examination.....even if we are churchgoers. He titled it....and you can easily Google it as such....Charles Spurgeon.....Self-Delusion....or Many Professors Deceived.

There's something else I would like to recommend to you.....and if you are familiar with R. C. Sproul I think you will enjoy it. R. C. was a Pittsburgher.....raised not from where I was raised. He was a bit older but I've sometimes wondered if he might have passed a hot dog and Coke along to me at Forbes Field.....or vice versa? If you are not familiar with him....he may have been the very best Christian teacher in America....and therefore the world actually.....because of his ability to state doctrine in a way that was so very easy to understand. He went to be with the Lord a few months before Billy Graham did. Anyway...a book was just published on his life....titled.....R. C. Sproul, A Life....and I'm waiting on my copy....but Ligonier.org this week broadcast a Daily Audio interview with his wife Vesta. Twenty...twenty-five minutes long....it's a great primer. on R. C. Sproul....and would be a great introduction to Ligonier Ministries. To listen to it just go to....renewingyourmind.org....click on archives....then click on R. C. Sproul, A life.
