I don't know how many general elections this goes back...but it would be at least to 2012. Each time I would have an inclination....but not write about it or even speak about it....because it is not anything that anyone would even consider. So not only is this at least the fourth straight general election for president....but the situation gets worse with every four-year cycle.
We on our side need to step back from this fray. It is so vexing and incendiary....and it has changed us so much....that if nothing else but for the sake of our own souls....we have to....as the term is so often used in corporate settings....'cut our losses"....and pray that God might prune or winnow these people who have come in among us and ruined any ethical foundation that we may still have had.
Well you surely can see why no one would even consider....stepping back. We have heard from our side in every election....general or mid-term....for a lot longer back than 2012....that that particular election was....(you could say this along with me....for we all know it)....the most important election in our history! It is a standard mind-altering tactic! So how can anyone ask us to step back from that most important election in our history?
There is a biblical precedence in what I am suggesting.....and I have written on it before.....many times. Jeremiah....prophesying....told the people that if they....'stepped back'....or....'cut their losses'.....to use my terms....that Babylon would let them live....and till their own soil. The idolatry and the violence in Jerusalem was so pervasive that God had His prophets....(there were more than just Jeremiah)....warn the city and the people for nearing forty years. The deal was done so to speak. There was no....let's get a few legislators and see if God's warnings let up....although that is exactly what Zedekiah tried with his 'free the slaves' plan.
That is where we are in America folks....and it has been at least forty years of warnings. The jig is up....(anyone remember that idiom)....we had our chance....there is no making America great again. We are getting worse....and the leaders that we choose prove it.
So theoretically....according to my theory....if we at least cut our losses and concentrated on cleaning house in the Republican Party....then we might have a legitimate primary season in four years....and a legitimate conservative news media to fairly inform us of what is going on. But I am too late to bring something like this up. I should have had the courage to bring it up back in 2012....cut our losses....Obama gets a second term....but we come back stronger. Instead....we gave our minds over to a mega plan of gross forms of greed and pride and self-centeredness.
All of this argument is moot anyway....for just as God gave Jerusalem over to Nebuchadnezzar....using Babylon as the punisher....we have judgment coming also. The people of Judah rejected Jeremiah's advice to...."Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls....But they said. 'We will not walk in it' ".....and we likewise in America have chosen our own path. The leaders and the people rejected Jeremiah's command from God to cut their losses....and we have ourselves already made that same statement in.....'No....God's so-called prophets....those Billy Graham types....do not know what they are talking about....we have our own prophets....and we will make ourselves great again!'
