This could also be a summation of America today....for whether we politically be on the Left or the Right....Israel or Judah if you will....we just cannot fathom how God could be displeased with us. Yet He is."
I posted the above last April but referred to Malachi a number of times over the years....for it is speaking directly to the church today. We....particularly evangelicals....just cannot understand how God can be displeased with us! What could he possibly want? Does he not realize that we just put Trump in office?
Brothers and sisters....Donald Trump is a curse on us....not a blessing. When God's Word warned us that on that great delusion...that if possible even the elect would be taken in....that's us! We have bought into the lie. What more do you need to see that Trump is a false prophet. He talked directly to you....the evangelical who put him in office. He has for nine straight years now told you the exact opposite concerning America....the exact opposite....that God's Word tells us! Golden Age? Not even that atrocious prophecy seems have stirred anyone!
No....pastors have not warned anyone....but have we even tried to read about Trump over the past eight years? The books are out there....but they told us that they were fake news and we just believed them. I've read a hundred of them while evangelicals were watching sports. We now have gurus everywhere to take the place of using our own mind....podcasters and Fox and listen and obey radio....(formerly talk radio.) January 6, 2021 was pure horror....and they talked us into believing that it was nothing! We pounded wokeness and all the other idolatry on a daily basis over years....but never once looked within ourselves at our own idols and abominations. Greed has become a master over us....and pride a seductress.
We once had the ministers that were warning us. Billy Graham increasingly did so for the last three decades of his ministry. He could not even carry on a conversation over the last year of his life but I suspect that he knew that something was terribly wrong with where the church and even his own son were going.
R. C. Sproul grew increasingly concerned in his last few years. I was only a faithful listener but that is my take on the essence of his warnings. John Piper hasn't been fooled....nor have many others. David Wilkerson would be shouting warnings at the top of his voice if he were still here....even Pat Robertson would by now be warning of Trump....regardless of where his son may be at today....but most of these men are gone....it is a new generation of national ministers....and there is not a lot of discernment there.
What it comes down to is that evangelicals want their country back....and their 401s....and their future. They palm this off as an offering to God....but it is a stench in His nostrils. We are right now in a stupor as we watch Trump. No one can question this man or else they will be banished if not worse. Brethren...first they came for the communists....is that not a phrase that we once had in our memory?
May our merciful and righteous God have mercy upon all of us....open our eyes from the blindness that has afflicted us....and strengthen His remnant for the perilous times that lie ahead of us. May He do so if it be in His perfect will....and to His glory alone!
Addendum: So do you dare watch these videos....the first is Jonathan Cahn....spoken with Trump in the first row of the....faith summit? The second video is from the Turning Point USA conference in December in Phoenix. We are all familiar with the bizarre music that the Trump rallies play....well this was not a full composition from the Phantom of the Opera....the song being The Point Of No Return.....but only a chosen clip of the song....and it was played before Trump came out on stage....to many evangelical young people! Why....why....would anyone choose this clip? Is this a bad joke? Please pay close attention to these words that were chosen.
