There was a time back in the first term where Trump wasn't doing any press conferences at all....and the pressure built up....so that he started having....helicopter press conferences as they were called....or something like that.....where he would stop and answer questions from the press but the roar of the helicopter blades made it near impossible for the press to even hear let alone gather their thoughts to ask a question.
All of this tonight was fantasy....right up to the usual rally end where Trump went through the litany of 'wealthy again' and 'powerful again' and 'proud again' and 'great again'....only now he includes....'healthy again'....where we are....'one glorious nation under God'....but starting today....every signature may engender a response somewhere. Everything before today was in the future-tense....everything starting today will be in the present tense.
This rally was different than all of the other rallies because it was a celebration. This afternoon....every block will be checked. Franklin Graham will give the invocation before the inauguration. A Muslim imam will be one of a few to give the benediction. Billy Graham's son will as usual pray about how we can do nothing without God. Back in 2017 in Arizona I believe....Phoenix....he gave a similar prayer....an actual prayer of mortification.....but no sooner had he left the silent stage that shouts of USA USA USA filled the arena....and I posted on it at the time. This was all a theatrical production....Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show....mixed with Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show.
We are being told that a Golden Age is now upon us. This is only the latest prophecy. All of God's warnings to us have been ignored. We evangelicals think that we are now in His good graces. This could not be further from the truth.
