In June of 2016, a few weeks after his father secured the Republican nomination for president, Donald Trump Jr. accepted an invitation from a Russian lawyer to meet about potential damaging information on Hillary Clinton. Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort tagged along. Supposedly no concrete information was given about Hillary Clinton and the Russian lawyer then changed the subject to Russian adoptions. Had it only been a meeting about adoptions there would be no problem at all but such is not the case. Was the younger Trump then at least interested in restoring the American adoptions of Russian children that Vladimir Putin had ended?
Conservative radio talk show hosts, the ones that I listened to today, are preforming their new duties admirably....defending President Trump on anything and everything and ignoring anything and everything that actually might be of concern to conservatives who elected President Trump. Vice President Pence was on a few of those shows today helping them.
What if this Russian lawyer had given the three.....gentlemen....serious information on Hillary Clinton.....which is what was expected? What does Donald Jr. do then.....say...."Thanks a lot....next time your in New York look me up. I'll take you out to La Grenouille for lunch."? He's fortunate that no serious information was given.
Donald Trump Jr. tweeted today..."Obviously I'm the first person on a campaign to ever take a meeting to hear info about an opponent....went nowhere but had to listen." Is this tweeting problem hereditary? The Democrats read it and now they want him to testify.
Will someone tell Rush and the others that not only do we know that the news media is corrupt and that CNN is the worst of them but we knew it long ago when Donald Trump was refurbishing the Versailles Palace West aka Mar-a-Lago. We know how bad the situation is and what the possible consequences are from this veritable coup that is taking place, but we are also concerned about Ivanka, Jared, and most everyone else in the West Wing. More importantly we are letting the people attempting this coup direct everyone's attention away from issues that need immediate attention. It's a bad situation and we are making it worse.
One last thing. Every talk show host today made a big deal about the Republican Congress not doing anything on the Obamacare repeal. They act as if President Trump is sitting on pins and needles for them to do something. Have they forgotten what happened in the first Obamacare repeal fiasco? Our president tried his best to push that thing through. It would be comforting to know that they at least haven't forgotten about this; but the tact they are taking on just about everything is the very same thing the Democrats hammered their people with....they conveniently omit the more sensitive and incriminating points of an issue in favor of lambasting ad nauseam the absurd points....and that's what they are doing with this latest nonsense.
