Why Steve McQueen

There's an article on the Fox web site right now on Steve McQueen and how he came to faith in Jesus Christ shortly before he was diagnosed with the cancer that took his life. Why did God choose Steve McQueen and not...well I won't say any names but you know what I'm getting at....why did Steve McQueen....'get saved'.....and not other similar macho cinema superstars?
Why did God choose to regenerate me where I would then come to a saving faith? There are so many others that I personally know who one would think would be better candidates. Maybe....even quite likely....it was to show the powers that want to be that He wields the power to save as He pleases...for as He spoke to Moses..."I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."
When I first understood this great and wonderful truth as proclaimed in His Word to us it was a great relief! No longer did I have to rely on my own powers to get in the mind of those who needed Him. No longer did I have to try and concoct ways to get people to see the gospel of Jesus Christ. Proclaim the gospel as accurately as one can proclaim it! Proclaim it as many times as God will give strength for! The power to save is the gospel itself. God will apply it according to His perfect wisdom and in His perfect timing.
Does not the Word of God itself say...."For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek"....or this....."For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God".....or this....."For the kingdom of God does not consist in talk but in power".....or this..."...and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit's power"....or this...."....because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction...."
