Rush Limbaugh offers the listener a public email....ELRushbo@eibnet.us....and I applaud him for that. You can put your message in the title and if nothing else it serves as a survey on listeners opinions. I have no way to contact most conservative radio talk show hosts other than Facebook or Twitter of which I will have no part of....and of which I've warned about the negative effects of for almost the entirety of these nearly ten years of posts.
The Pew Research Center announced the results of a survey where it is estimated that 20% of those who at least warmed up to Donald Trump in the last days of the 2016 election had soured on him after he became president. I can see that figure being accurate.
Rush had trouble figuring this out....how could one-in-five who voted for him now feel cold for Trump....yet the polls remain high? I answered this earlier this year.....Donald Trump's base is changing! The power hegemony people....and they are many....including many Christians.....are very happy....the economy is temporarily better and we threaten everyone else around the world. This drew a lot of people into his new base along with his new agenda....a number equal to or maybe even higher than those of us who do not want any part of this strategy of....speak loudly....grab every penny that is rightfully ours....and threaten with a big stick.
Yes....the Democrats are waging a coup against a sitting president and we were as outspoken on this as anyone but this president has purposely....and I should add mysteriously....made this ten times worse in his Twitter war every day of his presidency. Whatever the merits or lack of merits of this probe....if President Trump succeeds in putting an end to it then it would be the exact same thing as Richard Nixon's 'Saturday Night Massacre.' The probe now has to have time to conclude its work.....and we will then make up our own mind.
It has generally been the case since the beginning of these posts that three quarters of the viewers came from here in the United States but in the last year it has been more like an equal number of visitors come from around the world. I interpret this as American conservatives not really wanting to hear criticism about President Trump who they have put all of their hope in while people around the world are open to opinion on who this man really is.
We....conservatives....let our guard down after the 2016 election. Where we were once vigilant....we no longer are. Where we once the determinant factor on where the conservative movement would go....we no longer are....the talk show hosts give us only the information that they think we need to know. Where we once were set on fire by these conservative talk radio hosts.....particularly beginning with Rush Limbaugh at noon and extending on into the evening hours with Mark Levin....we are now lulled to sleep by the all-consuming and one-sided defense of President Trump against the Mueller investigation....and they wonder why we are not motivated. Consequently we tend to stammer repetitively today where we once could lay out the big issues of the day very logically.
To be fair to these talk show hosts....they just made some bad decisions in the beginning that spiraled out of control. When Ivanka the Terrible and her consort Jared were brought into the inner circle....we caved. When President Trump threatened the Freedom Caucus in an attempt to save his fake Obamacare repeal and replace bill....we stumbled around confused. We were separated from our conservative beliefs....wedded ourselves to President Trump....and have been the recipients of spousal abuse ever since.
Christian conservatives expected a King David of sorts....but what we got was a King Saul. They are now forced to explain away all of President Trump's lies and machinations as.....'God can use anyone.' Indeed....God can and does use anyone for His purposes....if there has been anything remotely good that has come from these posts then He has proven that he can use the least of the least and unworthiest of the unworthy....but the purpose in Donald Trump was not to make America great again but to let us go in our folly....and to see where our only hope is today and in the troubling days ahead....hopefully until that time in which we can see our mistakes and return to Him.
