We Will Surely Find Ourselves In That Net

My wife and I took our yearly trip this afternoon to Phipps Conservatory And Botanical Gardens just off of the Pitt campus. Jesus....speaking of the lilies of the field in Matthew 6:28 said this...."Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these." As we headed towards Pittsburgh I dialed up SiriusXm's Patriot Channel. President Trump's speech to CPAC was just beginning so I turned to my wife and asked...

"Should I?"
"Should you what?"
"Should I attempt to listen to President Trump's speech?"
"No!"  She knows how this affects me.

I took it as a "Sure"....but only lasted about twenty minutes before the chants of "USA...USA...USA" and "Lock Her Up...Lock Her Up" began. Apparently it was a two hour speech...which I think in itself is a cause for concern.

The Fox headline as I begin this is..."Trump fires up raucous CPAC crowd with expletive-laden description of 'Bullsh--" Mueller probe. CNN's headline is....(yes I check CNN's headlines....do I now get excommunicated?)...."Trump mocked his former attorney general's accent at CPAC when recalling his decision to recuse himself from the Russia probe."  The lead picture on Drudge right now is President Trump caressing our flag.
The President also said this at CPAC...."We got our great, great people, and that includes our beautiful, beautiful Otto (Warmbier). Have you ever noticed....certainly you have....how President Trump always refers to people as great or wonderful or terrific or courageous? Folks this is the flatterer!
In John Bunyans' The Pilgrim's Progress....Christian and Hopeful....with
Ignorance tagging long....come across a man at a time when they were not sure what path to take. The man gladly guides them on which way to go but it only leads to them being caught in a net. When Christian realized what had just transpired he said...."Now do I see myself in an error. Did not the shepherds bid us beware of the flatterers? As is the saying of the wise man, so we have found it this day: 'A  man that flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet'." Where are the shepherds that should be warning us of the Flatterer?
The powers that be are doing everything within those powers to secure a second term nomination for President Trump before we wake up and mount a challenge. Four years only....four years is enough....and this from someone who celebrated with others on that day in November of 2016.
