How long of a time period was it from the first plague on Pharaoh and Egypt to the last plague? We don't know. It might have have been months....or it might have been longer. A couple of times it seemed as if Pharaoh was weakening....as he might at one time try to make a deal....and at another time actually beg for relief. Even after the final plague....where he let the Hebrews leave....his anger built....and he went out with the intent to destroy them.
We in America have had judgments from God....of various degrees....over an extended period of time. We've had school shootings....and mass shootings....each shocking us....for a short period of time anyway. Violence has overwhelmed us since the deaths of the Kennedys and Martin Luther King. Columbine caused us to weep....but did we weep a little less as a rifle fired into a crowd from a hotel in Las Vegas....killing far more than Columbine? Two Shuttle disasters set us back in our exploration of space. We were on our knees as our military went to war in Iraq in 1991....but quickly forgot that danger as our mind went back to the economy....and war has followed us since then. The Clintons and Barack Obama....Pelosi and Omar and AOC and everyone tagging along....were a judgment....but only those of us on the Right knew that.....and Donald Trump is every bit as much a judgment from God.... but only those on the Left seem to know that.
Who would have thought that....short of a nuclear war....we could be brought lower than that which 9/11 had done....but a tiny virus.....whether it proves to be as deadly as were are warned or not....has driven us into darkness....both political parties....all of us....even evangelicalism that looks not to Jesus Christ....but to Donald Trump....who tries to negotiate a deal with God as did Pharaoh.
There is no indication that these judgments from God are going to cease....or even subside....for we are stumbling around....possibly headed to a world war....of which we ourselves could be lighting the fuse....for an economy....for an election....believing the words of a false prophet...."Together we will vanquish the virus and America will rise from the crisis to new and even greater heights.....(for) In America....we are the captains of our own fate."
