Evangelicals....are you up-to-date on President Trump's recent comments on NBC's Joe Scarborough and insinuations of his once committing a murder? You have ignored a mountain of evidence over upwards of four years now of severe psychological problems with Donald Trump. You bought into Rush's excuse that....'he's a fighter....that's why he acts this way'....but he's troubled....that's why he acts this way. Right now you are the primary political base responsible for enabling him. Probably you are pleased at that....but either way this is your show now. Had you not put your trust in a 'prince'....instead of on Christ where it belongs....President Trump would by now either have been held to account....and forced to concentrate on his remaining nine months in office....or he would have dumped you for supporters who are more loyal than you....which would have been to your spiritual benefit. We've had a genuine biblical false prophet....a wolf in sheep's clothing....enter the sheepfold not by the gate.....but by escalator....and we think it was Jacob's ladder. I look into the face of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo....a kind face....but one where I can see the pain behind the smile...and I feel sorry for him. I feel equally sorry for Senator Ted Cruz....(who had my primary vote in 2016)....and how he loses more credibility every day....and as for Vice President Mike Pence....I have no idea who this man is. Where are the republicans....who must know that there are problems here....problems that are not even beneath the surface? Where are the more notable Christian pastors....not the charismatic prophet type of ministers.....but the more grounded ministers.? Is there no one on our side willing to stand up and say....'there is a problem here.'?
Update: Western Pennsylvania....2035 hrs....President Trump tweeted earlier today...."The great people of Pennsylvania want their freedom now...." Mr.President....please don't refer to me as "great." I recognize the fake flattery that you control so many with....everyone is "great" who does not oppose you. Our Governor.....usually mild-mannered....today threatened to withhold all kinds of funds to those who do not accept his guidelines. What you are doing is escalating an already difficult situation.
Well tomorrow's the long anticipated day when the Supreme Court will hear arguments on the attempts by the Congress and a New York prosecutor to get years of Donald Trump's tax returns. Candidate Trump said that he would release his tax returns but like thousands of other statements he has made it was an outright lie. His excuse was that his records were under audit but Nixon released his while under audit. He then said that he may not release them anyway which points to yet another previous lie. It had been reported that Barack Obama spent 3 million dollars keeping his birth certificate secret. President Trump must have gone well over that. Trump's argument is (one) that the attempt is in a criminal investigation which he as president is immune from....and (two) it is political which he also believes protects his financial records from release. The financial institutions have said that they will comply if this ruling goes against Trump. The Supreme Court can give a ruling wither way or it can pass....leaving the lower court's decision for the tax returns to be released stand. We still do not even know what the President is hiding. He said he's proud of his financial records....but then....as we know....he either is incapable of discerning truth from a lie....or he is capable but just refuses to tell the truth.
Update: Timothy L. O'Brien....a senior columnist for Bloomberg Opinion....has an article out right now that can be Googled at.....'I've Seen Trump's Tax Returns and You Should Too.' He wrote a book a few years back....TrumpNation....(2006)....(haven't read that one yet)....and was sued by Donald Trump for having 'lowballed the size of his fortune.' The suit was dismissed in 2011. As a defendant he was able to view Trump's tax returns. He cannot give specifics but imagines...."that Trump is hesitant to release them now because they would reveal how robust his businesses actually are and shine a light on some of his foreign sources of income." O'Brien also included in the article this Saturday Tweet from the President. I looked it up....and it's there...."Game on! We are thrilled to announce the reopening of @trumpgolfla beginning Saturday May 9th! We look forward to welcoming you back. (golfer icon) Book your tee time now!" We have to reopen....but shouldn't there be a bit of concern for the seriousness of the situation....maybe even prayer for wisdom?
Update: I found the book....TrumpNation....and read it. Donald Trump cooperated in the writing of it. It's a very easy read....and probably on most library shelves....and gives a good glimpse of Trump.....for he never changes. (he was vengeful throughout....complained about getting bad press....and exaggerated everything) At one point someone commented that the celebrity Donald Trump essentially began through television in 1984. I took the television out of our home in 1986 as I didn't want our son raised during his formative years with a television in the home.....and as I've mentioned....I had not seen as much as one minute of The Apprentice in its entire run. This may explain why I knew so little of Trump prior to his inauguration.....and also why after seeing him action....I had to research who this was that we elected....and why that research is now over seventy books....as I reluctantly continue to analyse our misfortune.
Update: The court heard both sides yesterday....and now it is just speculation drawn from the questions that the justices asked....of which some seem to suggest that the request for records from the Congress may be turned down....while the New York prosecutors may get their records. My prayer is that God's will be done in this....for His purposes....not mine.
There has been a recent research paper published that speculated on how the Spanish Flu of 1918 may have been instrumental in the rise of the Nazi Party. There was a book published....a year ago or so I believe....that looked into the case of the flu that hit President Woodrow Wilson....and how his neurological functions may have been effected by it....for he seemed to acquiesce after the bout to the harsher demands of reparations from Germany.....which did indeed lead to the rise of the radical party. In the case of the coronavirus today....wherever it eventually leads to in the voting booth....it may very likely bring a radical response....from both sides!
Fox Internet news....in reality....Trump News....is reporting that Cong. Nunes...."vows criminal referrals for Robert Mueller's team in latest Russia probe reckoning." Folks...I repeat here from a post of only a few days ago....these operatives are bringing it up....this is Donald Trump's Achilles Heel....revenge at all costs....regardless of that inconvenient thing called truth....no matter who gets hurt....and however long it takes. These are show trials they are threatening....only this isn't Stalin's Soviet Union. Russia has to be front page news again....starting with and FBI who watched Trump operate for decades in Russia...as they were investigating the burgeoning Russian criminal syndicate....and tried to move mountains to see if Vladimir Putin had him under his thumb. Bring back the two-hour meeting in Finland between Trump and Putin....a two-hour meeting....one-on-one....that flabbergasted some of his aides.
WE ARE THE BAD FIGS.....April 9, 2020
President Trump told religious leaders just yesterday in a conference call...."We have a tremendous year coming up. We're going to beat this plague." Vice President Pence also spoke in the call....the VP saying...."The president says we will defeat the coronavirus, and we'll come back stronger than ever before, and it will be the faith of the American people that laid the foundation for that great, great comeback." What 'faith' would that be Mr. Vice President.....as representatives of different religions were part of that call? We cannot even separate ourselves as to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jeremiah was given a vision that we read about in chapter 24. In it he sees two baskets of figs....one was of 'bad figs' while the other 'good figs.' Nebuchadnezzar had taken captives back to Babylon....a humbling experience....but these were the 'good' figs....for God would use this to their good and His glory. Those that stayed in Jerusalem and Judah were as us today who will not humble ourselves....but will continue to build that which took us far from God to begin with. Not only have we not separated ourselves from a decaying culture and dreams of worldly greatness....having only fashioned an evangelical niche within....but now....having a glimpse of the virus subsiding....are determined to build again....greater than ever....apparently having learned nothing.
