Do You Have About Fifteen Minutes To Spare After Reading This Post?

Donald Trump today spoke at the NRA convention in Texas. In my biographical research on him over the past seven years I've watched dozens of his rally speeches. I would recommend to you....particularly any pastors who read this....that you simply Google....watch Trump NRA speech....then choose the Sky News site. Slide with your cursor the red dot over to the right to approximately one hour and twenty-one minutes....1:21:00....into the speech....and watch the last fourteen or so minutes.
You will see the purest example of a demigod or a demagogue....both definitions fit. This is essentially the same stump speech that he has always given but there is a little twist....for about a minute or so after the time that I gave you to start at....soft music will begin....and Donald Trump will pause for about thirty seconds....look around.....seem a little confused but possibly not....and then begin his final words along with the music.
There is one point I would ask you to pay particular attention to....where when speaking of guns....he says...."This is your God-given right"....only he paused after the word God....so it comes out....'this is your God......given right.' I'm sure that he did not intend this but it may be that God did?
He will go on....(you may have heard these words dozens of times as I have)....he will go on to tell you how America is going to be great again....(God's Word tells a different story)....and he will end with.....(he abandoned this for a little while a year or so ago)....and he will end with....speaking rather slowly...."for we are one....glorious,,,,nation under God." Which we are not.
I recommend that you take a few minutes to pray before watching this....for you will need discernment to break the spell....and spot the false prophet.
Once again this is a Saturday evening....about 10:30 as I type....about twelve hours before pastors take to their pulpits. I have prayed for mine on the day before the Lord's Day for years....and I pray for our son's pastor....and I pray for your pastor....generally but also specifically if I know you.
I am the way that I am....I believe this to be so anyway....because I listen to about a dozen sermons a week from....preachers from the past....(Spurgeon and Martyn Lloyd-Jones specifically)....and preachers today who preach like preachers from the past....(there are many if you can find them....but it takes effort....(I'll mention only John Piper and John MacArthur here.) I do not think that one can listen to powerful....(just another word for faithful)....sermons so often....and not have your life changed. I firmly believe that pastors today need to attempt to glean from these men.
So I will end here to pray again for pastors. Please join me....and if you leave your church service tomorrow and have not been figuratively brought to your knees in humility and praise for mercies given....and the laughter and trivial banter once again fills the sanctuary....then please run home and find a preacher on the Internet who can feed you what you need.
