Nahum And Graham

                It's time for the American pastor to take himself off of that pedestal and examine what his ministry has become. What is happening to the Jewish people right now.....is going to happen to them. They are going to come after them....just as they are going after the Jews. You need look no further than Germany circa the 1930s and 1940s to see this. Surely you are familiar with the poem that begins...."First they came after the communists"? That was written by German pastor Martin Niemoller....who learned too late what was going on. All of that protesting closing church doors for a while during a pandemic was nonsense. Satan wants most of those doors open to keep that pablum gospel flowing. These pastors will have more than they can handle of protesting real persecution in the future.
                This may sound naive....but it seems that we really believe that we are something special? Why....we are republican...that's why! We oppose abortion and homosexuality! We go to church....and sometimes to Bible studies....and we read the Bible....not nearly as much as we read about the Steelers....but we read it! We raise our kids to be polite. They may never mention anything about being born again....but then neither do we. We give to a missionary at church. We want to make America great again!
                  Well let's talk about that last one. Our forefathers kidnapped and flayed and killed or made slaves of other human beings....so that we could become great back then. We had to have two 'Great Awakening's'....and multiple revivals every so often just to keep us from rejecting God altogether. As incredible as that....'Greatest Generation'....truly was....post-Scopes and pre-Billy Graham....we really were not interested much in God. And then beginning roughly in the 1960s we took idolatry to new heights in America....rivaling just about anything the Canaanites could do. Still there were small revivals so to speak....one in the 70s....continuing maybe in the 80s....just to keep God's judgment from destroying right then....and here is the kicker....that is what we want to go back to! Billy Graham was crusading all over America....warning us that we were nothing but a Sodom and Gomorrah....and that's what we want to go back to! And we are....what....ten....a hundred times worse today then we were back then? 
                   God gave Nineveh a very clear warning....and He had done that with us....and Nineveh repented for a time....and in a way so did we.....but then came Nathum....no more warnings other than to prepare....and with us then came Graham. He learned from his own mistakes....as probably someday will his son. We are not called to restore America. That is not going to happen. We should not want to settle for going back to that day. Fighting evil with evil is not going to work.
                   Who is leading who in these pulpits of today? The reality is that the pastor and the pulpit are feeding off one another...you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours....I come in all happy....and give you a happy message....and you smile and laugh....and go home to your picnic or your game....(isn't God good to give us so many blessing!)....and continue to pay me....(don't forget inflation by the way.)
                   May God awaken these men. May He awaken us. May He awaken me!
