So....the DOGE people show up somewhere....and the mere sight of them stirs up fear. What....in history....does that remind you of? You've surely watched many WWII films. If in that film the men dressed in black came in....German military....then everyone knew that their life might be on the line. These DOGE people are threatening thousands of layoffs....when you can hardly get a hold of them right now. They are threatening telephone service for the elderly to file their claims. They are trying to go in the back door to cut SS.
"Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." (Ephesians 6:11) That's the NKJV....the ESV uses the word....schemes instead of wiles. Let me give you just one example of the wiles or schemes of the devil. He will use emotion....on something pure and lovable...that tugs on the heartstrings.... and tie it to an evil man or and evil cause. What we can do....if we have discernment....is acknowledge the goodness of whatever that example might be....but at the same time say...."No....I will not let that take my eye off of my Redeemer and His Word!"
We have as a nation in these short past six weeks.....broken covenants....dismantled the rule of law....despised the alien in our midst....set in place a junta to lop off the heads of anyone who dare utter any challenge to a man who is stabbing long-time friends and allies in the back....and is proving before our very eyes the concerns that Putin had something on this man.
March 7....In January the U. S. told Israel that they might talk to Hamas on their own. Israel objected to this....but the U.S. did it anyway....secretly. Israel just found out about this and strongly objected to the United States. This is what Trump does folks. There are such things as....friends....or allies. Everything is transactional. I hope that Israel is learning a little from everything that Trump is doing.
NATO...Tariffs....and Grandchildren: Trump is the same yesterday...today...and probably tomorrow. His brother died from alcoholism....then his father died....Trump's siblings inherited a fortune....but Trump gave the two adult children of his deceased brother a few hundred thousand. When they took this to court....Trump rescinded the health care of the one nephew's seriously ill infant child....as retrobution....sort of what he does with NATO....do what I say or you might just die....or with tariffs....do what I say or you will be hurting.
As I type this....roughly 9 PM....Thursday March 6....the 1963 gold single of Elvis....Devil In Disguise....is playing barely audible on SiriusXM. Paul warned in Galatians....1:8,9...."But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed." He then repeated himself for emphasis...."As we have said before, so now I say again. If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed." The apostle addressed the subject again in 1 Corinthians....11:13,14....warning about...."false apostles" and "deceitful workman...."that...even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light."
The availability of semiconductor chips.....according to an administration official today....is important to America's....'national economic security' and 'national security.' We will surely hear of this in tomorrow's speech before a joint session of congress....a deal was made with the world's top manufacturer from Taiwan.....build there and have a25% tariff....or start to build here and they get a waiver of some sort. First of all....is this ethical....come here and build or we will punish you? Well this is and has been a national security issue for a while....but would this affect the United States commitment to defend Taiwan? If the chips are made there then that has to be protected....but if they are made here it might not be as essential?
Lech Walesa....remember that name....wrote a letter to Trump....signed by 39 other former Polish dissidants....expressing horror and distaste at the way he treated Zelensky....and that it reminded them of a communist courtroom. He said that the Ukranian soldiers were the ones to be thanked....and he demand that Trump hold to the security guarantees from 1994 after the breakup of the USSR. Here is something that everyone just has to agree upon....no matter what side of the aisle or ideological spectrum they are on....Donald Trump is the great divider....countries....allies....political parties....friends....families....evangelicalism....everything....and in true Trump fashion....he claims that he is the opposite....a unifier!
CBS program....60 Minutes....earlier in life....but have not seen a single episode in over forty years because it is a Lord's Day program....but I watched a thirteen minute episode on YouTube this morning....and think that it needs added to the debate.
The essence....the foundation of all the investigations on Trump in his first term was concern that Putin may have had something on him....for why would he hate NATO and say so many things that were a benefit to Putin? That he is right now Putin's strongest ambassador is not the surprise....the surprise is that once competent and determined conservative voices in our government and congress....have forgotten all that they once warned about with Putin....who has always hated Zelensky....and most definitely wants him out. Our evangelical Speaker of the House....the guy who literally always looks like a deer caught in the headlights....is the latest to push for one of Putin's desires. This certainly is directly from orders from Trump. The State of the Union speech is coming up. I have posted negatively on this speech almost every year since Barack Obama was in office. It is a farce. Seeing what has happened in the past month....why would Democrats even show up? It's a king's speech....give it to him....and hope that the American public awakens to what it is.
Currently....March 3, 2025....Republicans hold a three-seat advantage in the House....218-215. There are two vacancies to be filled in April elections. Elise Stefanik will be resigning if her nomination as an ambassador passes the Senate....so there would be three vacancies. All three seats are considered Republican locks....but if the Democrats were to take those seats....they would hold a 218 to 217 advantage and take back the House.

It is an extraordinary interview with short well-crafted questions...and very direct answers by a man who should know. I'll give you a couple of examples....the man interviewed says that when Russians use the word....denazification....with the Ukraine....it really means....demilitarization. As for this possible minerals deal....he used someone else's description of....extortion....he himself says Trump just wants to make a quick buck....but the key point he made was the question of in the deal....will America sell the needed military equipment to the Ukraine? Putin obviously doesn't want this.
March 1.....Yesterday may have been an eye-opener to the world. Trump talks a lot about....having the cards....but who is going to join another 'coalition' if the USA needs one? Why should they keep the dollar as the reserve currency? Why do anything to help now that they no longer have an ally....and certainly not a friend....but a mercenary for hire...if Trump is in the mood?
In Trump's first term we always had the assurance of someone like Mike Pence to take over if Trump did not have the cards in any of his impeachments or criminal trials. With J. D. Vance we no longer have that calm assurance.
January 23, 2016....Sioux Center Iowa....Trump...."I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters." That's what we saw in the Oval yesterday....for to his supporters he can do no wrong.
February 28.....Tonight there will be a rare....7 planetary 'parade' in the sky. I posted the following in April of 2023...."First of all there is a little bit of a twinge of guilt. At 72 years old....and 5 1/2 years retired....(75 years old now and 8 1/2 years retired)....and up at 4:30 in the morning to view a rare 5-planetary alignment....while in the darkness others are headed off to work."
February 26.....Trump announced the beginning of a Golden Visa program where someone can buy a visa for about 5 million dollars....providing they can employ at least ten people. He said that he knows some Russian oligarchs who are very nice people who might do this. So....the rich can buy their way in to America....while many poor Latino families have to pack their bags in a hurry and get out.
February 24....The Fox News headline right now is...."French President Macron arrives for meeting with Trump to decide Europe's future." God will decide the future of Europe...and America....and Fox News....and you.....and me! Maranatha....Lord Jesus come!
There was a symbolic vote...two of them in fact....in the United Nations today on Ukraine....and the United States sided with Moscow.
February 21....Rabbi Stewart Weiss often writes op-eds the Jerusalem Post....and he has one out right now titled...."Is Donald Trump the Messiah?" He answers that question with a negative....for the Messiah has to be...."a descendant of the House of David"....but he wrote that people are asking that question anyway....because of all the great things that Trump is supposedly doing. (You can easily Google this article) To the average evangelical today....they can take this article and run with it....but to Christians who have any discernment at all....this article should get them thinking about a lot of things.
I've heard this a few times. A brother of a sister in Christ will say to at least give Donald Trump a chance. That statement comes with something that has to be taken for granted...."Hey....Trump worked hard to get his second nomination." That's where the problem is. This is not a situation where a candidate won a nomination....and then an election....and should be given a chance. This is one more thing that we are commanded to believe....case settled....even though it is patently false. Trump instigated an insurrection where people's lives were lost. It was pure horror....and all the explanations trying to deny this are lies. I had to turn the television off that day....while watching what was going on at the Ellipse....because....as I wrote at the time...."It unnerved me." Trump then spent the next four years....threatening Republicans....calling in favors....flattering....seeking the weakest politicians around as supporters.....promising rewards....(and yes those are promises that he kept....he gave them the jobs)....avoiding debates....promising the world....peace and security...and riches....and power. Back in January of 2017 that argument to give him a chance might be legitimate.....but not this time. If only everything here this time around was just built on sand....but it much worse than that. It is built on ruined reputations....greed....revenge....and hatred. It rendered evangelicalism helpless....significantly hurt national ministers who up until Trump had defended the gospel over defending a political party....dissipated compassion....and took our eyes off of Jesus Christ....to build a statue of a man who is the embodiment of everything that God's Word tells us to flee from.
