It was the summer of 2021....and there was a break in the Covid restrictions....so we went through with our yearly neighborhood summer picnic. I sat with a good friend....a close neighbor....who was and is a sound Christian believer. I could talk to him without his panicking at a conversation about the coming Antichrist. I mentioned a couple of possible candidates....Barack Obama being one....and Donald Trump another. Why Trump....because he essentially was an empty individual....void of any emotions other than anger and rage....ready so to speak....of being filled with.....something....anything. Yesterday in the Oval Office Trump displayed how he has absolutely no compassion on the Ukraine....nor would he have genuine compassion on Israel or Europe or anyone else.
At the time of the picnic it looked as if Trump's political future was totally over. My friend could not agree with my theories but did say that if Trump did indeed return....be resurrected so to speak....then he....my friend....would have to take another look at what I was saying. Well Trump has been resurrected....he even since had a "seeming" mortal head wound healed....as God's Word describes it....but when over this past summer I brought up to my friend the conversation that we had....he couldn't even remember it. Our motto today could be constructed in a Latin phrase....Vigilantia Reprobari....vigilance rejected.
My personal Bible study in prophecy goes something like what I did this morning. I opened the Bible up again to Daniel....it could have been anywhere....yesterday it was in the Psalms....which is my usual....a few days ago in Revelation. And I sat and just read slowly....looking to see if what is going on the world might give some enlightenment on that difficult eleventh chapter. I do things like this all the time....and usually there is nothing changed in what I see....and the years go on....but I am in God's Word....searching and pleading....and that in itself is good enough....for it shows that at least I am desiring our Lord to return.
"For He satisfies the longing soul,
And fills the hungry soul with goodness." Psalm 107: 8,9 NKJV
I have come to be pe persuaded over forty years of this type of Bible reading that God does....just like His Word tells us....use the sun and the moon and the sky for signs. There is just too much evidence to reject this. Even yesterday as much of the world was shaken by the open belligerence in the Oval Office....(the Daily Mail headline was..."A spectacle to horrify the world"....we witnessed a rare seven planet alignment in the sky. The last was in 1980.
Jonathan Cahn is perceived to be the resident 'expert' today in evangelicalism on Bible prophecy....but he never mentions blood moons....total lunar eclipses....and he will tell you this....but if he did he would have to give an opinion on Trump being born on a blood moon in June of 1946. Would that have been a good sign....or something else? There was....you should remember this....a big hubbub back in 2014/2015 on the....tetrad of blood moons....as it is called....a not only rare phenomenon....four consecutive blood moons....but a super rare phenomenon that they all occurred on Jewish feast days. There have only been eight I believe like this in the 5,000 year....(past and future)....NASA recorded annals...one falling around the time that the Jews were kicked out of Spain....and another when Israel miraculously became a state again in 1948....and again when Israel took possession of the old city of Jerusalem....(we went 300 years or more without a single one of these tetrads before this)....and then once again in 2014/2015.
Well a year or so passed after that tetrad and many said...oh well....I guess that nothing happened....but it was within that tetrad that Donald Trump famously came down that escalator....and the world and evangelicalism has not been the same since! (It should be noted that Donald Trump was born on a blood moon on June 14, 1946)
These signs that God gives in His creation are only a small part of the many signs and warnings that He gives us His children. That whole 20th century was one monumental event after another...capped by terrorism and violence and delusion of all sorts.
Lest you think that all I do is study Bible prophecy....these posts are filled with pleading for readers to go to either preachers of the past....who preached with the power of the Holy Spirit...(Spurgeon or Lloyd-Jones....men like that).....or preachers today....(there are a few of them to be found if you search diligently)....that preach like preachers from the past....(Piper and Sproul and men like that.) They preach the glories of Christ....and hearing this preaching gives discernment on other things. Conversely not hearing men preach as they should....can be a death knell to discernment.
I should say this more than I do....but you or I can know a lot about Bible prophecy....and wind up in front of the Lord only to hear....."depart from Me....I never knew you." We might protest....'But Lord.... I knew that you were coming....I saw all the signs....and I warned as many people as I could'....but one thing we lacked....whatever that 'one thing' might be that keeps us from loving God....and our neighbor!
