Is this the same man that was in the White House from January 2017 to January 2021? The most common explanation of this new man is that he learned his lessons from his first term....and simply said that he wasn't going to make those mistakes again....and that would be a reasonable explanation except for one thing....this that we are living and witnessing is not just a new and more determined man....for there appears to be an added external power to him....and not only to him....but these new people around him....and all of his supporters....who seemed to have undergone a transformation of some sort.
I can see this in three groups of people that are part of my inner circle. First of all just the average conservatives....who for years have been vexed by what the liberals and progressives have been doing to America. They are not necessarily religious....and if they are....they are not evangelical. They have hardened considerably. Not twelve hours ago one of them was to me....cheering on a new hero....a hero they would never have had eight years ago....Elon Musk. They have no concerns at all that American is in the midst of a fundamental change. They simple trust the man who they have chosen to follow. They are supremely confident....and blissfully ignorant.The second group would be the evangelical....who may or may not be born again. They read their Bible....apparently occasionally....but more importantly they wear their Christianity....their form of it....on their sleeve. They are doing all of this....their support for this cause....for God.....or so they believe. That old well-worn phrase....God and family and country....has shifted around a little. Country or family may be first....but God is definitely last.
The third group are those who I might meet today....and have genuine fellowship with. I don't put myself higher than them. In fact I put myself lower than them. I love them for their faith and their humility and their returned love....but they have been deceived.....partly because they do not hear God's Word preached as it should be preached. Most of them have never even experienced the glory of God emanating from the pulpit. They would wake up if they would quit taking that politics pill before they go to sleep....but there is no one in authority to tell them not to take that pill.
So what is ahead? Jesus is not only our Lord and our Savior and our King. He is our Lord and our Savior and our....coming King! Our fascination with politics has dimmed our fascination with our blessed Savior's coming....but this will change....and the remnant will come together. We know very well....because we have been taught this....and we have read it for ourselves even if we had not been taught it....that tribulation produces perseverance....or endurance....which is a grace....and that perseverance produces character....or maturity....and from that comes hope....because as these Bible verses....Romans 5:3-5.....continue...."and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us." NASB
