I've put out a couple of posts like this in the past but not for quite a few years. I just want to answer a question here......a question that I have been asked on occasion. Why do I not have a comments section here for others to rebut or whatever they want to do?
Actually I did have a comment link when I first started these posts back in October of 2008....and I had four comments right away....and knew right then that this was not going to work. I was working at the time....and with everything else that I was doing I did not have time to write posts and answer comments.
I had a 'follower' link at the beginning also. I was new to all this....and I saw that I had a follower. Well....I didn't want anyone to 'follow' me. The concept just did not sit well. So I disabled that link.
Over time the reason for not having a comment link changed. I have even less time now than when I worked....for if you look at the number of posts I put out over the years....(to the left of this)....you would see that those numbers went up big time after I retired in October of 2016.
On a side note I do find it odd that I retired less than a week before the 2016 general election. I would not have been able to read 106 books on Donald Trump if I were working!
Anyway....here is why I do not have a comment link today. Everyone....everyone that I know anyway....gets all their information from the main news sites....videos and podcasts....cable TV....and talk radio. None of them seem to read many current events books on their own. They sit and they watch or listen and they absorb. There's not a whole lot of room for meditative thought. The visual dominates over the word today....the experiential over the objective,
So....everyone is filled to the gills with talking points. I'll give you an example. The term 'Russia hoax' is back on the front page today. We have purposely and very effectively been smothered by that phrase over the past decade. Everyone on our side believes it....and it isn't even true! Trump is going to the well once too often on this. It's been a good ride for him and he fooled a lot of people.
The quote has been attributed to Abraham Lincon....(oh I just smile to myself when I think of president like that)....the quote is...."You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time." If this charge of a Russia....hoax....is defended against correctly.....the people will see that the CIA and FBI had every right and duty to pursue that investigation.
But I am getting off the subject. This is what is normal today....we....anyone of us....has an opinion....say MAGA.....and there are others that share that same opinion. That is our side. Now there are those who are....anti-MAGA....the other side. So the goal is either to win someone from the other side to our side....or besmirch their person....so that they cannot win anyone to their side. I don't want any part of that nonsense. These posts do reach throughout the world.....though in small numbers. I want to give someone....somewhere....the opportunity to hear something they have not heard before.....or in a way they have not heard before. I am a firm believer that the truth wins out. I'm not looking for scalps. I will never meet these people....not until heaven anyway. I just want to put something before them....and give them the opportunity....not to comment or to rebut.....but to become interested....or to choose to ignore.
