Something Is Not Kosher Here

                Do you remember the name....Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? It was in the news all the time back in 2009 and 2010 as he was the president of Iran who announced that Iran had achieved what they call....breakout capability. That term had different definitions at various times for development of a nuclear bomb but in 2009 it meant that the scientists could now begin the process to enrich the uranium to produce enough fissile material to make at least one bomb.
                 I posted this on December 12, 2009...."Should Iran be able to make just one bomb, or a few smaller devices, this would be enough to destroy Israel or inflict enormous casualties on an American army. It also has to be considered that a ballistic nuclear attack by Iran would immediately be identified whereas terrorist activity using these devices leave room for denials of any involvement. Iran is delaying, and even a total capitulation to the demands at this late date would be somewhat unsettling."
                 A year later....on December 12, 2010 I posted...." Our intelligence agencies, officially, have stated that the earliest Iran could produce a bomb would be around 2013 while various independent scientists have said that they have the capability right now."
                Fast forward fifteen years and what we were told by our intelligence agencies was that Iran was possibly within weeks or months of producing a bomb! Something is not kosher here!
                Do you remember the old 2008 John McCain ditty taken from the Beach Boys' hit song Barbara Ann...."Bomb bomb bomb....bomb bomb Iran?"
                Iran may have been deterred from its desire to send dozens of nuclear warheads on ballistic missiles to Israel....and other places....but that was never the only concern....for all they need is a suitcase bomb to cripple a nation. So when they talk about peace today as it concerns Iran....all such celebrations are premature....and to use such celebrations as a political tool is worse than just being negligent.
