Jonathan Cahn's teaching....(the word 'theory' is not strong enough to describe what he is doing)....is that as the Christian church expanded....the demons were cast out....and now that the Christian church is being driven back....the demons are being set free. The now famous messianic rabbi/author is an example of what Paul warned in these two verses:
1 Timothy 1:3-4..."As I urged you when I went into Macedonia-remain at Ephesus that you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine, nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith.
Titus 3:9...."But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless."
Paul is telling us here not....not....to spend our time on these endless theories. Maybe some are true. That is not the point. We as Christians are not strengthened by knowing that some fallen angel became known by some name to Greeks and then some other name by Romans and so on. Out strength is searching the 'endless' glories of Jesus Christ!
It is not that Cahn has been in error since he came on the scene in 2011 with his book....The Harbinger....for the attack on America was indeed a message from God to us. The collapse of the World Trade Center towers should have sent all of us to our knees.....but it didn't.
Jonathan Cahn started coming out with more books in regular succession. Built on what was a sound premise that God was warning us....Cahn started reaching for evidence....and it led him into incredibly egregious error.....primarily when he was sure that Donald Trump was the biblical Jehu....this in is book....The Paradigm....and Hillary was Jezebel....and Bill was Ahab.....and on and on. Obama is in there as are many others. The result of this was that Cahn misread a genuine biblical false prophet....and turned him into a hero for Christians.
I have read all of his books....for that is part of what I do....not only Christian books but in politics also. I've been researching since the beginning of my Christian walk in 1982. I use that research to warn on occasion of things like where Jonathan Cahn has gone and where he is going....and I have used the research....(over ninety books on Donald Trump alone)....to warn how we have moved our trust....(if we ever had it)....from Jesus to politics. Christian nationalism....in one form or another....has replaced what once was evangelicalism.
You might consider this....Jonathan Cahn appears on televangelist programs such as Jim Bakker's....and other Word/Faith teachers....often. His prophetic 'truths' apparently are more important than the gospel itself. He is seen as one of God's 'anointed.' How therefore does God's 'anointed' not even have the discernment to detect false teachers?
