Preface: There are the evangelicals who think that they are serving God by supporting Donald Trump....and there are the republicans who think that Trump is some kind of hero....and then there are the rest of us who stand and watch this in utter amazement. Those who through tabloids and television talk shows have known for almost half a century who Donald Trump is....cannot believe that republicans continue to vote for him....this even though their own Joe Biden is just as ethically corrupt and incompetent. The establishment republican....Mitch McConnell for instance.....knows that Trump cares absolutely nothing about any of his supporters....that the rallies are nothing but a con job. They know that the man who calls things fake.....is the biggest fake of them all! They also cannot fathom how Trump still has any supporters at all. Then there are Christians who from day one knew that Donald Trump was vile....and would never support a man like this. Russell Moore who I quote in the following post would be one of them. And there are those like me....who know that this is not just a political phenomenon....it is rather prophecy being fulfilled. When millions of Christians are deceived into following a false prophet....and tens of millions of evangelicals almost worship at the altar of that false prophet and his high priestesses in congress....and when some of the most well-known ministers had been deceived.....Franklin Graham and John MacArthur being two....then this has to be nothing less than God's judgment. Deception of this magnitude can only be part of end time delusion!
Prophecy Played Out Right Before Our Eyes
The Drudge Report has an article up right now on comments made by Russell Moore....the Editor-in-Chief of Christianity Today. It will surprise no one as to his comments on Donald Trump. I'll give this one question and answer:
The question was whether or not Moore could..."under any circumstances"....Support Trump?
Moore's answer"...."Well, I can't speak for all evangelicals. I can only speak for myself. And Jesus said, 'Let your yes be yes and your no be no.' I'll let my never [be] never."
The church right now has been judged....and Donald Trump....although only the latest transgression of our calling....is at the center of it. I attended a church some twenty years ago that had the finest preacher of the glories of Jesus Christ that I personally ever sat before in a pew. The congregation did not recognize this....and the pastor eventually left. There was an American flag to the right of the pulpit. Neither he nor I could bear to look at it in the worship service. Let me say this. Our town has a belltower that plays beautiful bell chimes....and occasionally it plays our national anthem. I seem to be the only one who when it plays I turn to the flag with my hand over my heart. I have fourteen years of posts here describing my love for America. The Stars and Stripes....pole and holder and all....were recently ripped off the front of our porch in a violent wind burst during a storm....but it had hung there for probably as long as we lived here....forty years. This is not a patriotism issue....it is a gospel issue.
Donald Trump's ascendance in conservative politics is more spiritual than anything else....judgment for one....a curse for another. Some evangelicals may legitimately be able to claim ignorance on who he is.....because what used to be informative talk radio has become a shill for a false prophet and con man....but even with no conservative and information media available to us anymore....evangelicals should have been able to see what was going on....but then along with no credible news source....it telling only that which it wanted you to hear....and hiding what you needed to hear....evangelicals also had no warnings from the pulpit.
So ultimately....we spend all of our time raging against progressive agendas....but it was us that brought in the man who would take our identity away....and give us a new spirit. Russell Moore in that interview tells of how he doesn't know a church that is not tense and hardly a family without some major division within it.
We would talk about it often over the past forty years....that I am aware of....maybe longer. God would judge His church first....and it appears that that is what happened. There is no stopping this storm. God is not going to just let us go back to the pretend days before Donald Trump. Warning of Trump from the pulpit is not politics....but rather warning of a false prophet....even worse....someone who essentially entered the church and commenced to beat down its defenses....and put that flag center stage....with the pulpit only off to the right....and warning of the encroaching Christian Nationalism is not politics.
Addendum....case in point: The Durham Report has been released....and this is going to further strengthen Trump's hold on the Republican Party. Here is why this is darkness sent from God. The average evangelical has read next to nothing on who Donald Trump was and is. They got their info from talk radio and cable news for all those years since 2016....which means that they did not get what they desperately needed to know. I've read well over ninety books on Trump.....on every aspect of his life and every time period of his life....and a lot of it was on his relationship with Russian money. Being who he was....a poster boy candidate for Russian kompromat....and the FBI knew this....it would have been dereliction of duty....not....not to investigate him....but that fact has been turned inside out....and we are buying all of it. No....this is not just politics....this is God's prophetic word playing out right before us.
Trump's actions while in the White House and after he left....the constant pro-Putin rhetoric....and secret meetings.....and bashing of NATO....right up to today.....prove that the FBI was correct in that there was a serious problem. Does the average evangelical know anything at all about Paul Manafort....what he did for a living.....and his relationship with oligarchs....and various tyrants who he worked for....who Trump chose for his campaign manager....and how the charges against Manafort played out....as Trump was tweeting all over the place? The answer is no. We were never told any of this....and this is just one of dozens of areas that our media....conservative media....the supposedly ethical media....purposely kept from us....while using the FBI tactics as diversion. And the result? The FBI....imperfect as they have always been....but a powerful tool against America's enemies....has been weakened in that defense of America....and the kompromat poster boy is today the odds-on favorite for the White House....thanks in large part to evangelicals....who are championing a false prophet....and an antichrist as the apostle John described them to be! This is judgment folks....on the church!
