Evangelicals....many of them....are nervously asking of themselves right now...."This is good....right?"
No....this is not good....and it has only been eighteen days since the election. Jonathan Cahn....in one of his prophet shouting moods....looked at Donald Trump in the audience and proclaimed that if he....Trump....lives wholly for God then all these great things will happen. After eighteen days has Cahn figured out yet in all the ancient mysteries that he supposedly discovered....that he still hasn't a clue what the ancient mystery of a man like Donald Trump is?
Franklin Graham continues to express and expound upon his political wisdom on his Facebook page just about every other day. He is the Martin Niemoller of evangelicalism today. He is the equivalent of that celebrity that we conservatives always disdained who barged into politics with nothing on their resume other than an Emmy or an Oscar or a Tony. The only difference is that he is a good man who just never listened to his own father's warnings.
This is a different cabinet then the one Trump formed in his first term. All caution is being thrown to the wind. He is a troubled 78 year old man who has 78 years of no wisdom to rely upon as he charges into the valley of danger.
The remnant is forming folks. It's like a freight train that one needs to hop....or 'catch on the fly.' Catch it while it is still day....for night is coming!
I check every Friday....on the bulletin from John MacArthur's church....to see if he will be in his pulpit two days later. This Lord's Day will be the twentieth straight week that health issues have kept him out of it. We have few in evangelicalism today who exude gravitas when they speak....whose name carries weight...such as John MacArthur does....even with the mistakes that he has made in the past few years.
In yesterday's post I recommended a talk given by Iain Murray about a month after Martyn Lloyd-Jones had gone to be with his Lord and Savior and King. In that talk Murray said that the date March 1, 1981....(the day Lloyd-Jones died)....should be remembered as is September 30, 1770 when George Whitefield died....and January 31, 1892 when Charles Spurgeon died....because of the loss sustained by the church. The 69 days beginning in December of 2017 between R. C. Sproul and Billy Graham going home qualify as such a loss to the church.
I know of no way to get feedback on John MacArthur's health. All we can do is pray....and that is what I do....pray that he might enter his pulpit next Lord's Day....but if he does....I have to wonder what he will preach about? I do know that we need someone on a national scale to warn us of where we are heading....may God have mercy upon John MacArthur....and us who would hear him....if it be His perfect will....to have a trumpet sound from a watchtower....that the enemy is near and approaching fast.
